Cecilia Ibru may not smell prison...lives inside Reddington hospital

Former Oceanic Bank MD/CEO, Cecilia Ibru is not in Ikoyi prisons where she's supposed to be serving her 18 months jail term which runs concurrently. She is currently living at Reddington private hospital in VI and she may likely spend the remaining months there, escaping seeing the walls of a prison.

Mrs Ibru is enjoying is enjoying this special privilege courtesy of defense lawyer's plea for leniency on grounds of ill-health. Having succeeded in the plea bargain, Taiwo Osipitan (SAN) went on to inform the court that Mrs. Ibru is still on admission at Reddington, where she's receiving treatment for chronic cardiac disease, congestive heart failure, chronic hypertension and lower extremities. It was on this ground that Justice Abutu granted her requested.

I knew it was eventuallly going to come to this. I still maintain my stance though, even though the justice is not meted out fully, it is still a step in the right direction. Walai, it feels to me like this is the 1st instance where any influential person's assets will be as comprehensive as hers, even though I'm sure it is not exhaustive. Osanobuwa dey sha....

How come the same privilege isn't given to others? I remember the story a month or two back about a house help who was raped and impregnated by her employer, only to be jailed and forced to give birth in prison.

Surely her doctors can provide her care in the prison ward?

ITS UNFAIR. A MAN STEALS A GOAT, HE IS SENTENCED TO 2 YEARS IN PRISON. MRS IBRU STEALS BILLIONS SHE IS SENTENCED TO 6 MONTHS THAT WILL NOT BE SERVED!!!!!!!

THIS IS ABSOLUTE CRAP.

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) jailed Mr. Olusoji Abiodun Ilori for 120 years [in normal jail] for "making an ATTEMPT to post scam letters at the Dugbe Post Office, Ibadan the Oyo State Capital" ... http://goo.gl/UuYS ... I don't condone crime / fraud or 419, but 120 yrs is excessive, but Cecilia Ibru is enjoying her so called 6 months sentence in a 5 star private hospital. Something isn’t right. Justice Abutu should be jailed for 120 years for the lousy sentence he gave to Cecilia Ibru. Justice in Nigeria is a massive stinking racket. Justice Abutu, I put it to you and the prosecution that you lousy f%ckers took hefty back-handers from Cecilia Ibru and her people to help her escape justice. In my humble opinion, I feel Justice Abutu is a greater evil than thieves such as Cecilia Ibru. If the price is right, shameless and rotten charlatans such as Justice Abutu help people like Cecilia Ibru to escape justice. Shame on you “Justice” Abutu. The saddest thing in all these so called asset recovery is that a different thieving gang (within the government, the Nigerian judiciary and the so called Economic and Financial Crime Commission) would have already appropriated the "recovered" assets for their own private and personal use. Naija has a long, long way to go.

Cos after they sell these assets, that is if they will... Where is the money going to? Will they come knock your door and say hey, here is your share?

We Nigerians we are daft! I wish people reason and think the way i do.
