Siasia Threatens To Quit Super Eagles

 
Super Eagles' chief coach, Samson Siasia, is ready to quit the national team, barely three weeks after landing the job due to what he calls officials' interference.

Siasia told a source in Holland that the issue of assistants' appointment remains a bone of contention between him and the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.

''All the pledge of a freehand for Siasia appears to be unrealistic. There are a number of ex-internationals the NFF expects to form the coaching crew of the Super Eagles but who are not in the plans of Siasia. On the other hand, there are some ex-internationals who Siasia wants but whom the NFF does not like due to their antecedents in the national team,'' he said - Tribune Newspaper

She has since not been seen and and the uncle who picked her up is also missing. His phone is switched off and he cannot also be traced.

What should we do about comments on this blog?

Should I censor them more or...? I'm beginning to think it's kinda getting out of hand. The reason I upload most comments is because I understand the importance of giving everyone the opportunity to air their opinions. We obviously can't all agree on a matter and the diversity is what makes a blog like this more interesting. But I'm beginning to think maybe I'm allowing too much negativity on here.

Ja Rule was arrested sometime in 2007 on gun charges. And after trying unsuccessfully to have his case dismissed, today he plead guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and will be sentenced to two years in prison sometime in February.

The camp of Nigeria Premier League side, Ocean boys is in mourning as their left full back; Emmanuel Ogoli slumped and died during a League match yesterday Sunday Dec 12, in Yenagoa.

The incident occurred in the 39th minute of their League game at home to Niger Tornadoes but Ogoli was confirmed dead on the way to the hospital in an ambulance.

Abia State Notorious Kidnapper, Osisikankwu Killed By Soldiers

The soldiers drafted to Abia State to halt the kidnappings in the state on Sunday killed the state’s most notorious kidnapper, Mr. Obioma Nwankwo, nicknamed Osisikankwu. The criminal was killed at Ugwuati Evil Forest when his gang engaged security forces in a gunfight according to Army spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa.

Osisikankwu and his gang of kidnappers had terrorized Abia residents before the Federal Government deployed troops to quell their activities. He and members of his gang had been in hiding since the troops arrived in the state in September after the kidnap of journalists. - The Will Nigeria

For the first time, a Nigerian artiste came clean on the financial value of his album. "This is not to prove any point, it's only to inspire someone that we are doing this. Rapper Ikechukwu fights at Night Club

My goodness, I witnessed this with my own eyes...and what a sight it was. After the MAMAs last night, a few friends and I decided to end the night at Rehab Club on Ajose Adeogun and well, a few minutes after we got there...the fight with Ikechukwu and a bouncer ensued. They wouldn't let him through the gates and he flipped. (They let Naeto C and Sauce Kid in a few minutes before Ikechukwu arrived). It looked like it was deliberate...!

Ikechukwu's such a nice fellow but when he gets angry...wow! During the fight, he took his shirt off, his very expensive sun glasses fell (btw, I have the pic of the guy who took Ikechukwu's glasses incase anyone wants it back...:-)). The bouncer he fought with bled through the nose...I hear Killz has a black belt...or maybe the bouncer didn't really want to fight him back?

Anyway, the rapper has since apologized for his behaviour.

Stolen DDC Machine recovered. Suspects paraded

The suspects arrested in connection with the theft of the Direct Data Capture machines of the Independent National Electoral Commission. From left: Mr. Suleiman Isa, 17; Mrs. Modupe Sunmonu, 41; Mr. Lawal Lateef, 19; and Bamidele Joshua, 22.

The Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, Mr. Moses Onireti, said that the suspects were arrested in the early hours of Friday in their various residences in Shasha and Akowonjo on the outskirts of Lagos. He also said the suspects had confessed stealing 16 out of the 20 units of the missing DDC machines. The suspects, he said, had made useful statements that would lead to the arrest of other suspects involved in the theft.

Question is: What do these people want with these machines?

Akunyili may resign, eyes Anambra senatorial seat

Indications emerged yesterday that the former Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. Dora Akunyili, may resign her appointment soon to allow her to contest a senatorial seat in Anambra State. It was learnt that Akunyili, who will contest for the post in Anambra Central, might announce her resignation at a news conference in the next one week.- Punch

How many of you remember that picture of a dude dressed as a woman at the BEFFTA Awards that I put up a while back? (If you missed it, then check it here). Well, I found out who he is. He's Africa's version of catwalk trainer, Jay Alexander. He goes by the professional name - Catwalk Professor and makes a living teaching models how to catwalk. The award winning model trainer works with the London School of Modeling and has worked with several pageants and modeling competitions in the UK.

His real name is Francis Matthew and he's from the Island of St Maarten.
