Residents of Rosettenville in Johannesburg on Saturday, February
11, went on a rampage burning 10 houses they allege belonged to
Nigerians running drug dens and brothels in South Africa.
According to the angry residents, they said Nigerians have been running illegitimate businesses in the country.
Speaking
to Sowetan Live, Albert Mwenza, a Malawian man and his family who were
living at one of the buildings that were burnt narrated his ordeal.
'When
a larger group came back, I was told to leave, but I refused. I was
then forced out. Some of the people jumped over the wall into the house
and stole our belongings.
'They then threw
petrol bombs. Everything else that was left inside was burnt to ashes. I
am sad because we are innocent and have nothing to do with drugs and
brothels.'
Albert and his family are said to sleeping in the street of Johannesburg since the occurrence of the incident.
Another
Malawian living in the house said he was at work when the commotion
started. Yufusu Alie, 32, shared the bedroom with his wife and four
young children.
'There was R24000 in the house
which I was supposed to send home. I do not know what my family and I
are going to do. We have not eaten since yesterday and the clothes we
are wearing are the only clothes we have left,' Alie said.
It was however revealed that the South African Police Service SAPS is investigating the incident.

Something that has been happening since last week and na now you dey carry the news Abi.
The story is that this Nigerians their are tuning young girls of 14 to 19 years into prostitute by getting then hooked on drugs ( especially ROCK I.e crack cocain ) and the communities have been reporting it since but nothing has been done about it cos when ever the cops come, all they seek is brib and they turn a blind eye.
So since the DA party won the gautang provincial election, they now decided to do something and start with Rosettenville and that's why all this things of burning Nigerian crack house's atarted via the community police, the SAPS and the metro police k9 squad are all involved and non of them are saying anythin.
I Know all this because I live in turffuntain which is 6blocks away from Rosettenville and might I also remind you or inform you that so many Nigerians have been shoot dead in that very Rosettenville some by other Nigerian and some by Malawian and Zimbabwe hired by Nigerian of which middle of last year alone like 4 Nigerians where gunned down and 2 where gunned Dow at a place called "stop over" in that very Rosettenville.
Their is this popular crack house their (Rosettenville) that is owned by a Nigerian ( won't say his name ) but it is ran by a South African lady called Jennifer ( her real name and she's also a rock and crystal meth addict ).
That I will say is the house that deserved to be burnt and it was.
Your girls are glutton that's why they get hook to the drugs easily so don't blam we Nigerians because befor we came some of them where on drugs
