SME 100 Nigeria and Rubies Vocational School have organized a one-day conference to commemorate the 2016 International Women’s Day. The conference will focus on three different areas namely Politics, Agriculture and Technology. The conference is scheduled for the 9th of March 2016 at The Civic Centre, Lagos, Nigeria.

The theme for the conference, ‘Pledge for Parity,’ intends to develop and inspire female entrepreneurs in their respective pursues to leave their mark in an otherwise, male-dominated sector. Participants will have the opportunity of being mentored by seasoned speakers which include Mrs Mosun Belo-Olusoga (Chairperson, Access Bank PLC); Oreoluwa Somolu-Lesi (Executive Director, W.TEC); Hajjiya Aisha Babaginda (Chairman, Better Life for Rural Women, Nigeria). Others are Hon Lolade Akande (Commissioner for Women Affairs, Lagos State); Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson ( APC Women Leader);  Mrs Funke Egbemode (Founder, Mummy's Integrated Farms Ltd); Mosun Umaru (Founder, Harvesters Farms Ltd); Adanma Onuegbu (CEO, Signal Alliance)

Speaking on the need for the conference, Charles Odii, (Executive Director, SME 100 Nigeria) said ‘the workplace gender parity is high globally and women needed to be empowered in these three areas. The drive of the organization is to encourage women to participate in the areas of politics, agriculture and technology thereby creating a multiplier effect in the society.’

This first-of-its-kind conference is open to all Nigerians women and will double
as the launch of its 2016 Empowerment Training programme where a total of
1000 women will be trained over the course of the calendar year in various
vocations.

SME 100 Nigeria and Rubies Vocational School aims to continuously stimulate entrepreneurship among Young Africans through its empowerment initiatives – supporting female entrepreneurs and enabling communities to reap the transformational benefits of SME participation in the economy.

The registration fee for the conference is N5,000. For more information, visit www.sme100nigeriaconferences.com
