Let us say it cost the FG $1000 per pilgrim. It means FG spent $75m on this pilgrimage alone. That is N15 billion minimum. Imagine if that was spent fixing the universities at N1 billion each. Fifteen universities would be shining bright. We need more education and Medicare than pilgrimage. Govt should not sponsor these private religious trips. They have not become better citizens after the pilgrimage, or have they?
