Mr Mantovani said such project if fully completed would give people access to portable water. He said the state government would contribute $5 million as counterpart fund towards the project.
Responding, Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose described the project as a welcome development, calling on the World Bank team to carry the state government along while executing the project.
Governor Fayose, who decried the poor state of major dams in the State people, added that his admnistration would do everything within its capacity to engage in developmental project that would have positive impact on the citizens.
The team had earlier visited Ero and Ureje dams in the State to see the condition of the dams and how to make them functional.

Nice one,Ekiti is making it to the top. TIMILEYIN BLESSING
Wow! That's a welcome development
And Fayose is still making noise everywhere and insulting himself.I tot his state was very ok? Foolish idiot
Thatz a whole lot of money that can change the entire State.
One wonders where all the previous world bank funded projects are and what benefit it has instilled on the masses.
If at the end of this spending and there's still no circulation of portable water to every household in Ekiti, then Fayose must be wanted.
Nice one my governor. My educated dey nna brothers would love to develop ekiti hundred times better than Lagos. We don't need that blood oil for the development. Good work sir
50milion dollars on water project alone, nA for each compound for Ekiti dem go dig borehole? (Linda's finest)
why is it that its only in africa worldbank continually spends millions of dollars on social issues and the public never ever see the benefits!! Portable water! what nonsense...... $50m could refit the whole water corporation in the western region and keep an army of staff engaged to ensure safe water distribution to the communities.
They are not giving anyone money ODE...they want to invest and do such works within d state and d state Govt is also comtributing a counterpart fund of $5m ...recieve sense
Fayose doing something
That's so much money
~D great anonymous!
