Liberian man infected with Ebola Virus in Lagos has reportedly died

Yesterday the Lagos State Ministry of Health said a Liberian man is being tested for the deadly Ebola virus in Lagos (read here). The man, Patrick Sawyer, (pictured above) has reportedly died.

According to reports, Patrick died yesterday night at the First Consultant Medical Centre, Obalende, Lagos where he'd been receiving treatment. His condition was said to have worsened.

Sawyer, who was an official of the Liberian Ministry of Finance, arrived in Nigeria on Sunday July 20th for a conference.

Mehnnnn dis is really serious!!! RIP Man

Hello everyone,Greetings!I trust we are all doing fine. Just a quick one please Whether it be true or false that Ebola has entered Nigeria, we all need to be aware of the necessary preventive measures to take. Therefore, the following are the preventive measures we need to take, rather than cause panic:- Please have a personal hand sanitizer and use it as frequent as possible (like every 30 minutes).- Do not buy and eat any fruit directly without washing it first very well.- For now, you might want to stay away from eating any meat that you do not know it's source, most especially our lovely 'Suya'.- Also, try not to put your hands into your mouth without washing or using a sanitizer first ( for those of us that bite our fingers a lot, we need to consciously stop for now).- Try and avoid unnecessary hand shaking for now, or immediately after, use your sanitizer.- Unlike HIV, Ebola can be spread through contact with body sweat or saliva, so take caution when you sit in the buses or when you want to kiss.- Avoid eating any meat from apes e.g monkeys and its families.- Generally, avoid having contacts with body fluid- Bathe as often as you can- Prepare your meats by yourself, if possible- Lastly, get more information about Ebola, and I hope I have been able to help. Please stay safe and healthy!!!!!

#Peace

If our health officials and immigration officers are doing their work instead of collecting bribe. I don't think they would have allowed someone from a country on the list of infected countries just stroll in like that just for a course. As far as am concerned the virus is very much here already.

I don't mean to sound cold or mean and I know some people may attack me for this, but here goes. This man should have just died in his own country. Now he has brought this rubbish to Nigeria. Just imagine! If indeed, he had the virus then it would be the first recorded case in Nigeria. We've managed to stay off the list of African countries with Ebola cases all these years and now we're at risk. No Thanks to him! Nigga should have just died in his country!!!! *drops mic*

This virus takes 2-21days to incubate before the symptoms show up.

Now imagine those he made contact with on the plane, perhaps he had to sneeze in the course of the flight (in planes air is predominantly recycled even though within the same cabin);
those he made contact with @ the airport (did he sneeze @ the airport or use the airport toilet?);
who transported him from the airport to his hotel (was he conveyed privately or in a group?)
who did he make contact with @ the hotel?, what about his beddings who cleaned the room?;
@ the clinic: before he was suspected to be with ebola virus, who were the other patients in the waiting hall? Did he sneeze in the waiting hall? The medical personnel that made contact with him on Day 1, imagine a nurse who attended to him & had to go home with public transport with the virus on her uniform! Her family members kids who may have run out to hug and welcome her with the virus all over her uniform! Those in the same public transport medium she used @ the time? Did she deposit some of the airborne virus on her seat? What of the doctor (the 1st to consult) his clothings and all did he take. The virus home? What of the hospital cleaners who perhaps had to handle his beddings etc?
Imagine some people who just inhaled the virus having to use public transport to travel from Lasgidi to another state for the weekend?
My lord n My God!!!
I refuse to be sick, I am uninfectable...
The just shall live by faith.

Ladies and gentlemen, believe it or not, we have a deadly problem bigger than Boko Haram right in our midst now, Ebola MIGHT be in Lagos, Nigeria NOW!

What happens to the people he sat close to in the plane or bus (which ever transportation he used)?

If Airport, what about the Immigration officer that checked his passport and those around him on queue on arrival?

What about the driver that drove him to his place of stay(hotel or wherever)?

This is getting scarier ooooooh and this Govt is non Pro-Active at all.......Chei!

Lord, have mercy on us all ooooooh and help cure this Ebola before he gets too damn! Gooooosh!
