“With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our
darling music star, Goldie Harvey. Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after
she complained of a severe headache shortly after her arrival from the
United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award. She was rushed
from her Park View, Ikoyi, Lagos residence to her official hospital,
Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on
arrival at exactly 7:30pm in the evening.
We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian
music industry in view of the circumstance in which she passed away; the
abundance of talent she exhibited in her short but eventful music
career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of
America would have availed her. She is survived by her father, step-
mother, brothers and sisters. We deeply sympathise with her family and
fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially,
the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage. We
shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are devastated by
the sudden loss.”
Goldie's remains has been deposited at the mortuary. I'm not blogging today...will only bring you update about her untimely demise. Let's use the whole day to mourn her. Goldie and I recently became friends after she called me for a heart to heart. She was also best friends with one of my best friends, Denrele. RIP, angel. Only God knows why this happened.

this is truly sad, may her soul rest in peace. she must have had an embolism(blood clot) after her long flight from U.S. It is a known medical fact that people are at a higher risk of developing such after a long flight so it wasnt a simple heaache,an aspirin pill in time would have saved her. its so unfortunate to loose some one so young. pls lets read and educate ourselves

This still goes a long way to potray the decay in our health system. My mother-inlaw had a serious attack all alone in the US. All we needed was one 911 call and in minutes medics in 4 ambulances were there to revive her. I weep for my dear country.

Was it her first time flying to and from America? She may have suffered an artery burst in her head or blood cloth due to the pressure in flight plus the Nigerian heat. I always take it easy when I come out of flight in Naija because of the cold to extreme heat effect. May her soul rest in peace!!

when I first saw dis sad news on fb a cold breeze entered into my body..@ first I tot it was a rumour,I went to my twitter page dsame sad news,I googled it dsame Goldie..Is a sad news,a very painful one,d news is so shocking.she shouldn't hv died now.*crying*

She was an actor- right there in the centre stage,we heard her voice and it will be with us even in death. The news of her death is everywhere. Losers and fake people who take delight in putting people down with their hateful comments just to feel good about themselves will die unsung because they are nonentities.

Goldie was bold. She was not afraid to try. Probably a lot of people who criticize and throw insults on this blog never ventured into any thing worthy. My thoughts are with familly are friends. Rest-Bold Goldie!
