A much lighter Beyonce...

Left, Beyonce some years ago. Right, Beyonce some days ago.

Some people think she's bleaching her skin. She sure looks fairer in the right pic but it could be the trick of the light.
I love the Louboutin shoes by the way.

Of course anyone with eyes can see beyonce is bleaching her skin
and that one na her wahala
na her body na
if she likes it that way ,wetin concern us for there?

It could be the camera. Some cameras make people darker or lighter than they really are. She’s of mixed parentage and is really quite pale in person.

It happens with a lot of fair skin artistes. The reason is pure self hatred!

In order to succeed mainstream, they lighten their skin and wear blonde extension.

Seen Leona Lewis lately? Her nose is straighter, skin lighter and hair extensions blonder. No wonder they harrased her black father right there in her presence at a high end street. They felt he was shoplifting and wouldnt believe leona's explanation that he was her dad!

These women are only motivated by money forgetting that by doing this, they are further erasing the presence of black girls in the popular mainstream.

They also forget that whatever child they have naturally will always be referred to as black. And through that lense, those children, will wonder why there arent many successful obviously-looking-black people in pop culture, but several pale skinned, blonde hair, blue eyed girls, thereby promoting and establishing that form of self hate.

Then tomorrow people will ask why there are so few black girls on the cover of popular mags on forbes list etc etc etc erroneously supporting the agenda tha black girls are not as sexually attractive nor as successful as white and asian girls in mainstream..

Forgive my typos, I am typing on the go and didnt have time to edit. I hope my comment made small sense oh.lol

90% of women worldwide use toning cream.

The left picture is natural and beautiful, the right picture the lady had become artificial and fake.

@ Chilling sweetie... i'm sure you want to believe that the queen Bey is not bleaching but the fact is that she is! I saw her on the destiny fulfilled tour in atlanta and saw her in Newyork on her I am tour and chick is definitely bleaching...even though she is light skinned she def several shades lighter...matter of fact she is one shade from white and she used to have same color as Solange before...anyways as dissapointed as i am ....IT'S HER BODY

Anonymous said...

Dark-skinned people have too much malice sometimes. Completely unncesessary.

She probably isn't --- different lighting and hair colour makes her look much lighter. She probably hasn't been in the sun for a while too.

Spiteful human beings; any excuse to accuse yellow people of bleaching.

I'm just laughing at all the ignorant comments on this blog. With the way Nigerians are obsessed with people bleaching, you'd think we would be able to tell when someone is not.Have you ever seen someone who is bleaching? Do their skin look so smooth and even?

This is beyonce's real complexion! Her mom is creole and she is also really fair. In the left picture she is in full stage makeup, She uses a bronzer and she gets sun tanned. It's winter over there and she's not doing any shows hence her light skin. Same with rihanna, if you've ever seen them in person, you'll realize they are much lighter.in complexion.

Just wait till it's summer or she goes on tour again, and you'll see she will be much darker.

@ Mena UkodoisReady you have too much time on your hands, go and read a book or something.

She was asked in an interview some years back and she denied it vehemently. The interviewer even brought pics of before and after and showed her but she stilled denied it and swore she is a Christan and wont lie.
B i love u and all but there really is no need to lie even me i want to have a lighter skin, not to be white but just go up two shades creamier than i am now. Anyway na you and God as you don take em name swear.

nigerians always look for the opportunity to say someone is bleaching. i'm a very fair complexioned girl, and sometimes, d sun makes me look darker, friends even say once in a while, " u look lighter today". but there's really nothing to it. AS u can see, Beyonce's skin is smooth, no patches, her hands are not darker than her body. wen she looks darker sometimes, its due to tanning or her makeup(bronzer). get a grip of it, pple.

Anonymous said...

i myself do hav pics dat doesnt look alike,i hav pics where am fairer n pics where am darker, most atimes its the camera quality,d pic at d left is a night concert, while d other is in broad day light,so wht do u expect.if she is really like dt now in d right pics i believe is something dt a surgery can do not mere bleachin,n i hav not heard abt her goin for surgery resently.

Anonymous said...

@mena UkodoisReady; i'm of mixed parentage and would not be referred to as Black or White but as an intelligent young woman, not sure why i have to choose either parentage , its high time plp stop referring to us as Black or White. We are Who We Are.

Come do u guys knw tfor shows these artists get tanned n bronzed and wears like 2 tights to give a nice glow n even skin tone on stage and red crapets... Yes even the dark girls! they all get slightly tanned to even out their color, so she might not be bleaching...

Abscloset said...

lmao! u guys r deep oh! ppl writing Epistle....
Anyways its winter time, even the darkest person gets lighter during this season... she's always pale winter time... and gets a "tan" when it gets hot out.

for those saying its not the picture, you are wrong. I'm fair and there are certain times i look ghostly white in certain photos, it happens.
and YES people get darker and lighter depending on the season. Beyonce has barely been out lately AND its winter here in the US.
second of all, a lot of artists, beyonce included, use a lot of bronzers and tanning lotions for that GLOW affect.
Nigerians are so obsessed with bleaching its kinda scary.

btw: people can bleach and be totally smooth. Tonto Dike for example; she is already naturally fair, but her complexion is still smooth and even, same with Rita D.
biggest offender, Nicki Minaj, but her skin is still even toned (well, thats what i assume, given that she wears 10 lbs of makeupever every time you see her) givent that lil wayne doesn't like "darkies" its no surprise there.
if you're on the good EXPENSIVE, top-notch creams, it won't leave you discolored.

Anonymous said...

@tomisin listen go and look at beyonce from no,no,no video to date.....i understand that people get lighter in the winter but they dont go 4 shades or look totally white....and to answer ure question yes u can bleach and look gud all she has to do is pop melanin pills thats wat the stars do. bleaching is not bad or a shame dont know why people lie... Saint Beyonce.

Anonymous said...

best comments form surprise...you made my day!
first picture she was tanning
second onw toning
lmao

bloody excuses...its called high class bleaching....not that i mind tho...but dont insult my intelligence by saying its the camera...yeah right...and the blonde hair?

Anonymous said...

u guys a funny, celebrities bleach they dont have to use creams they use pills that stop their body from producing melanin if u dont know thats why they are flawless, and their weather makes it even nicer....so cut the crap talk no one knows for a fact but as i said beyonce has gone like 4 shades lighter no winter can do that to u. this is not the first winter i have seen beyonces pic. sumtins up with her colour.

Anonymous said...

She too dey bleach! Houston we have a problem!!!!

Anonymous said...

I dont think she is bleaching. The two pictures Linda used should not even be used for the purpose of this argument. The first picture is her on stage with tan make up which is probably done by professionals the second picture is of her on a regular and not wearing much make up + she has a blond weave.

Personally, there are so many pictures of me with different skin shades, depending on the lighting i could be really light, dark or my regular tone.

Just because y'all are obsessed and secretly want to bleach your own skin doesnt mean everyone is doing it.

I am so sick of Light skinned women always screaming hate when ever people give their opinion. I am not sure if Beyonce has bleached her skin or not and honestly I dont care, but LIGHT SKINNED GIRLS here shouting hate, Bitch Please, some of the most successful black models are dark skinned and the first ever Miss world is a beautiful dark skinned woman. Stop glorifying yourself like its a competition each time!!! Just want y'all to always remember that the only reason people would consider you Pretty or Beautiful in the first place is because you have a bit of color on you, if you dont believe me just ask a white person. And that is just my 2 cents. Linda do you know it was kelly Rowland's B day this week, just like every blogger I didn;t really hear you mention her, now Beyonce the world's sweet heart everyone is jumping and debating over her, she is successful anyways, help a beautiful fine dark sister out. Kelly should have been mention instead of MADAME BEE.

Why you guys are obsessed with bleaching is beyond me and even your ignorant brains.Beyonce is always in and around NYC,it's winter time + she gotta cover up.Which means comes spring time you get a lighter skin. But most importantly, the lighting and how bright it is outside dictates how light your skin is in pictue.

Tomisin said...

lol@ the comments.

Well whatever it is we think sha, the fact is we would still see her on stage or in the summer with browner skin. Maybe then you people would say she has been using Baba Suwe reverse bleaching cream.

LOOK AT PHOTOS FROM THE GRAMMYS THE DAY BEFORE. SHE IS LIGHTER BECAUSE OF THE BLONDE HAIR, THE LIGHTING AND THE WEATHER. DEAL WITH IT. VICIOUS, HATEFUL RAZZOS.

she's definitely bleaching and her boobs look bigger..BOB JOB ALERT or just a good bra. either way it's her body. i just hate the fact that her hair and skin keeps getting lighter.i'm soo over her after she married jay z (who i just dislike) and she seems fake too. and not every bleaching cream gives u the two-toned rukky sanda look. lil kim is a clear example of perfect and neat bleaching.beyonce and rihanna should slow down on the chemical peels and cream cuz they look like albino's. no matter how light u r..u can never look white if u r not white. i've seen indians who are as dark as genevieve but they still look more exotic that rita dominic or rihanna. love urself regardless of ur colour. complexion doesn't make u beautiful it's ur facial structure and features.

Chilling at 9:45am,

Beyonce is not of mixed parentage. Both her parents are black.

Anonymous said...

There's alot of pressure in the entertainment industry in the USA for women to have a certain look. The look is that of a skinny, big-boobed, white woman, with long blond hair. Black women in the industry are at a disadvantage b/c trying to fit this look means actually having to change our race because we are a melanin rich race of people. Beyonce, even though she is naturally light in skin color, still feels the pressure to approximate the skinny, long blond hair, big breated, white woman. I think the whole thing is sad.
I don't buy into it, but then again, I am not part of the entertainment industry. I'm sure if I were, I might bleach too.

She was really light skinned when she came to perform at THISDAY center back then- almost white, so was RiRi.

I'm your average Nigerian girl, who doesn't care about skin tones, I saw myself go shades lighter after I spent winter in another man's country.....it was so bad it became school gist "she is bleaching"

so i can understand why people will think this.

For concerts we've all seen how they "fake tan" them.

I just think she's lacking sunlight.

beyonce is not of mixed parentage. Her mom is creole and they are mostly brown-skinned. It could be boredom and too much money that is causing her to lighten her skin. Beyonce, please if you don't know what to do with your money anymore/longer, please give me some :)

linda, trick of light ke?!! She is clearly bleaching and guess what everyone has noticed. I was on a flight to NY yesterday and saw a copy of a london newspaper on the plane, it was headline news! I was sooo embarrased when I saw these oyibos reading the article! You know, their fist thought would likely be, 'this girl wants to be like us'! lighter skin, blonde hair, straighter nose the works.

Anonymous said...

@Tomisin, now who is ignorant?!!! Let me educate you. Do you think these stars would use cheap bleaching creams if they wanted to lighten their skin. There are many other more expensive and effective ways to. One of them is with a laser procedure. Another is that they inject some vitamin under the skin(not sure I think V12) and it starts to lighten from inside. I read a cosmo article on this some years ago. Do some resaerch on google if you like

Lol @ Beyonce being of mixed race. Beyonce is black, her mother is an american negro and so is her father...

The fact that her mother is light in complexion does not mean she's mixed, just that she's light.

As for the term 'creole'... what the heck is 'creole' but a word used by bourgeois blacks to portray themselves as having white ancestry somewhere along the line...

@ Anonymous mixed heritage12:12 PM. I apologise but this is just how society defines people and will continue to do so regardless of our personal feelings. They will treat people a certain way based on their race and based on if they have just a bit of African gene. Its a terrible, very very terrible legacy of racism and the one drop rule and all that. Funny enough halle berry, Obama et al refer to themselves as 'black' with Halle Berry going as far as calling her daughter 'black'. Click and read the drama here:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/08/halle-berry-daughter-nahla-is-black-from-one-drop-rule_n_820071.html

I didnt mean any offence by it, it was necessary to make my point but not to offend anyone. i.e Black (Anyone one with a drop of African genes)

Anonymous 8:01 PM, Nigerian films addict and especially anonymous 3:37 AM who spoke about the pressure they (stars) have to conform, you wrote like educated individuals as well as experienced intellectuals and I appreciate the fact that you understood my point.

The whitewashing of pop culture is on. And with idiots like lil wayne, kanye west, being so negative about black women. Jamie Fox sayiing that merely by visiting South Africa you can catch aids, and with that dimwit, John Mayor saying he cannot stand dating black women, even saying his penis was racist towards black girls. (Black as in non white girl) the pressure is just starting. Its sad but its true.

As for the rest, attack my points intelligently and with the same degree of politeness with which I posted said points, else I bid you farewell.

GLUTATHIONE WHITENING PILLS. the paprazzi have pictures of rihanna with a bottle and some stores have also confirmed beyonce buys it too both claims of which have been withdrawn because of possible lawsuits and pay-offs.

the HOLLYWOOD perception of beauty is THE LIGHTER, THE BRIGHTER, THE BETTER.

those saying its her real colour are bleachers and 'toners' themselves who would give their last drop of blood to defend one of their cohorts.
that's why they are aggressive and quick say 'jealousy'. its the inadequacy in you that makes you think that being light-skinned elevates you.

by the way, go to youtube and type in GIRLS TYME or beyonce at thirteen on star search. you'd see what she really looked like before.

Anonymous said...

@Drajke Thank you.

Black people came up with all these fanciful words to make themselves feel better. Oh, I'm creole, I have Native American in me, I have Asian in me, Oh, I look exotic. If both of your parent are not White, or one of your parent is not full white or another ethnicity, YOU ARE BLACK.

My father is European, mother is African/french, I don't go around saying I'm creole or mixed. I see myself as BLACK while I also embrace my heritage. Then, society can call me whatever they want.

Honestly, her skin does look few shades lighter. With all the bleaching products coming from Asia, India, and where black people are the biggest consumers, I don't think it should be that hard to believe that bleaching is very relevant and possible.

GOD is beautiful, made man in HIS image so the standards that people go by are just human standards, but I just can't wrap my head around Hollywood/Society obsession with wanting to look so white or pale or the more European features you have, the better you are.

I have all of those and I'm still as insecure as anybody. I can only speak for myself, but used to wish I have the opposite. The darker complexion, fuller lips, curly hair, curvy body is very beautiful to me but I have also come to accept myself for who I am.

I understand the pressure and the attention that the society gives to certain people that look a certain way but people just embrace what God has given you. I don't see anything wrong with enhancing or improving yourself but DO NOT go too far by adding or taking away.

@ anonymous 5:09 AM yes the article was on a popular British newspaper site but there's nothing to be ashamed of. If you read the comments, you'd see that most of them agreed that she ISN'T bleaching. And they were all sensible in the replies listing the weather and the fact hat she is not in full stage makeup as reasons. So the British people did not instantly jump to the conclusion that she is bleaching unlike my Nigerian brothers and sisters over here.
Like Tomisin said, wait till summer or when she goes on tour again, then maybe Linda will put up another post on Beyonce's darker skin and 'Mena UkodoisReady' can write another novel on darkening your skin.
