Sweet heart u r not alone, my dad was very violent towards me till I was 24 and left home after youth service but the last time he beat me was 2yrs ago when I went home to visit and he beat my mother(who is a grand ma) and I protected her he beat us both and chased us out at night naked. I confronted him last month and his reply is that he would lay a serious curse on me. My dad beat me blue black spilling blood all the time. He used to kick me match on my stomach and I wonder how I survived in that house. Right now I have made a decision to cut of from him cos he is toxic. Pls dear work hard finish studies get. Job and get out of that house that is the only answer so that u won't need his financial assistance. Despite the fact my dad was a pilot I worked as a waitress in a restaurant just to earn my own money and be financially independent. And it is so unfortunate that we are in Africa where they feel that your parents are your god and you have no right to oppose or question their actions. Sorry for the injuries dearie. *hugs*

Both my parents were highly abusive towards me. My mother was a narcissist and very emotionally abusive towards me called me ugly on a daily basis since I was about 7yrs starved me and kept malice with me for years in the home I wld greet her in the morning she won't respond she won't utter a word.to me in the same house for years. I was a confused child very miserable always sad, and my dad highly violent. we suffered growing up in that hell of a home at least your mom is there for you. We were terrorized by my father's extreme temper that beatings with plate, chair even cutlass was the order of the day. We cldnt wait to be independent so that we can have peace of mind. If you see my body I have lots of scars. God saved us that he didn't kill any of us by mistake. My child hood was terrible and I don't wish my enemy to go through what I went through. Many parents are not capable and many children go through a lot. My dad is getting old and he is realizing his mistakes but my mother has extended it to our marital home almost breaking our homes with her wickedness that we, all her kids decided to cut her off. I believe she is psychopath and needs help. So poster take heart and defend your self or leave the vicinity when your father is angry because it may save your life. God wld be your strength dear. Also I advise you to read beauty for ashes by Joyce meyer it helped me to overcome depression caused by my parents.
