Photos: Hundreds attend 10 year old girl's birthday party after all her classmates refused to come

Mackenzie Moretter (right), who has a rare genetic disorder called Sotos Syndrome that has delayed her development, which makes it hard for her to socialize, told her parents she wanted a 'big-girl party' for her 10th birthday. This meant inviting friends, so her parents sent out invitations to several of her fourth grade classmates but all but a neighbour and cousin had cancelled or did not RSVP. Meaning, only two people agreed to come so her mum took a different approach that brought 700 kindhearted people to Mackenzie's party and gave her a birthday party that she will never forget.

Her mum went on Facebook and posted in a few local groups asking families with girls around Mackenzie's age to stop by their Shakopee home on Saturday - and the response was overwhelming. More than 700 people joined the Facebook event for the birthday party.

And yesterday Saturday April 18th, hundreds of people flocked to a park in Shakopee, Minnesota to MacKenzie's birthday party and gave her a celebration she'll never forget.

Her Mom said she thought she'd get a few people to wish her daughter a happy birthday but was overwhelmed with the turn out. MacKenzie's Dad - Matt Moretter was speechless and grateful for the turn out.

People came with gifts, food, chairs and even a banner that read, 'Happy Birthday Mackenzie' to be hung from the sheltered area in the park. Local companies donated food and even a woman dressed as Elsa from Frozen showed up to celebrate.

The Mayor of the city declared April 18th 2015 as Mackenzie Moretter day. Amazing story. This is what people should do for other people, not Xenophobia. See the photos below...

This actually touched my soul. That we still have kind-hearted people in this world is a relied. Can't wait for the day NIGERIANS will put tribe aside and everything else and we can live this way. As terrible as oyibo people can seem, they can also be very selfless.
Today is Sunday, this is pretty much all the gospel we need.

Typical of modern day society.. selfish selfish selfish.

If it was Nikki Minaj or Kim Kardashian, the whole world will want to attend and take group selfies.

Is there hope for humanity?

Omg! Hbd dear! See how God gave her a special bday! Disappointments usually turn out to be blessings, see people, gifts, food, even to the extent that the Mayor of the city declared April 18th 2015 as Mackenzie Moretter day!

thank God for her and her Mom. Mothers are wonderfull, may God continue to bless all u are committed and dedicated to motherhood.
But to think that Ten yr old kinds don't know what is compassion, but could operate iPhones,Bb etc is an indication of what values kids grow up with today.
with the way we are losing are moral values, manifesting in the crises and character of young people all over the world today, thinking of the world in 20 yrs time really scare me.
