Meet UNIUYO's youngest graduating medical doctor. Graduates @21

21 year old Idongesit Eseneyen is the youngest graduating medical doctor and best graduating doctor in Pharmacology at the University of Uyo. Ido pictured above at her school's Sponsio Academica / Physician’s oath taking of the graduating medical students held on 13th June.

Ido, who she gained admission to study medicine at UNIUYO at the age of 15, said she's trilled to be the best graduating student and is looking forward to serving humanity.
"The award for best graduating doctor in Pharmacology came as a surprise, I wasn’t expecting it but I am happy. I got inspired to study medicine when I was very little due to my frequent visits to the hospital because my mum is a nurse, and also because of the desire I have to make a difference in people’s lives. I look forward to serving humanity"
Beauty and brains. Kudos to her! See more photos after the cut...

Doctor in Pharmacology makes no sense! its either shes the best graduating medical student or pharmacology student, anyways i dont know how you people do it in Nig sha but it seems strange that one can be a doctor in Pharmacology.you can be a doctor of pharmacology which is a PhD degree or a doctor of medicine which is equivalent to Graduate school degree here in Canada.Congrats to her all the same,God will make her an excellent doctor, but Nig's education system fast oo,here you have to get you Bachelors degree before you go through another four years of excruciating med school, chai!God bless her jare and shes really pretty!

Her brain la hot......atleast she knew what she wanted and went for it head on....@anon 12:00am,her dress sense being 20yrs ago ais probably one of d reasons she came out first (apart from hard work n determination etc)........if she had paid more attention to fashion...and what's to be worn every season..if she had been sidetracked by those things, she might have graduated with "certificate of attendance" like u......talkin 'bout brains n u r talkin 'bout clothes......"What u diss in people, is what u lack" chew on that.

Read the story again Mr. Canada 'Dry' , what the writer is saying is that while graduating as the youngest, she was also the best in pharmacology. Have a Coke and a smile.

Anonymous said...

Before you are in a hurry to tell us you are in Canada or wherever, you would have taken time to read the article. She was the best graduating student in pharmacology - which is a course medical students take at some point in their medical school journey. It is not a special degree or something. It's a prize.

Anonymous said...

She must hv really been a sharp brain in high school for her to pass jamb at 15. Congratulations to her anyway... bt will advice her to go for her masters abroad if she really wanna make her certificate more satisfied...

Anonymous said...

She is a Medical Doctor ie she has an MBBS/MD Degree, but pharmacology is one of the courses u study here from 400-600 level(at least in most schools) so she performed best in pharmacology, hence the award......its just like a science student in secondary school being best in Biology or chemistry....

Unknown said...

Nigerian's keep graduating inconsistent doctors, making our students turn to *cramers* and in practice they know nothing. Kudos to the young girl,

Anonymous said...

I hope she can practice as well not just theoretical aspect...Congrat to her

CONGRATS TO HER. SHE DESERVES ALL THE ATTENTION BECAUSE SHE'S WORKED VERY HARD AND I WISH HER THE BEST.

THIS SHOULDN'T BE A BIG DEAL IF NOT FOR HOW FUCKED UP NIGERIA GOV'T IS.... THERE'S A LOT OF YOUNG MASTER HOLDERS IN THE UK AND THEY HARDLY MAKE ANY FUSE ABOUT IT... BUT IN NIGERIA YOU'LL HAVE TO RE-SIT YOUR JAMB BECAUSE SOME STUPID UNI IS SAID YOUR NAME DIDN'T OR IS NOT SHOWING UP ON THEIR REGISTER OR THEY SEIZE YOUR RESULT..I GUESS I CAN SAY SHE'S ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES

ONLY GOD CAN HELP NIGERIA

flante said...

When I see young gals like dis. My mouth water. She's brain n beauty wit a bright future

Anonymous said...

Don't mean to be a beefdog or a kill joy..however I don't think its a big deal in the current age we in...I mean the worls is moving really fast and kids get into sch @ an early age...the ideal age now to finish sec skool is 15...so yeah makes sense if ur a doc @ 21 cos its a 6-yr course.

PS: am a doctor and I finished @ 21 too...*smiles*

@Linda,Take note... Medicine and Surgery is a course while Pharmacology is a different course on its own...So i wonder why ur heading reads medical doctor??...And there is nothing like doctor of pharmacology at bachelor's degree level but a PhD..Although all these courses are being studied in the medical college but she aint a Doctor yet,she is a Pharmacologist until she furthers to PhD level...Congrats to her all the same...Brain and beauty. All the best...

Anonymous said...

Fool you are proud of her achievements and the only thing u can achieve in life is to post links of stupid stories that add no value to humanity.... You can only make money from this but it cannot bring u true happiness or add value to ur life in any way.... Stop spreading vanity and get a real job.

Anonymous said...

Most stupid comment.... Which school and what course are u studying? Your mentality sucks and I pity you? This girl is obviously wiser than you are and more matured about life.....olodo

Anonymous said...

@anony 4.56am..The write up is quite confusing especially for those that understands the medical practice..Now its clear that She received the prize of the best graduating medical student in pharmacology...thats much more understandable and clear...thanks...#ImNotTheCanadianguy

Anonymous said...

Continue being jealous till u die.... Lol.... U will never achieve her feat

Anonymous said...

Ugly fool keep laughing at your stupidity.... Even if she was 40 years all graduate doctors will do housemanship and begin the learning process.... So it's not about age here

Anonymous said...

Lol.... Go carry ashawo Wey eye tear now.... Dis one na omo mummy she doesn't need area boys like u

JANETPETTY said...

Wrong Stats Linda! She isnt up to 21 years!! Her birth date is Sept 30, 1994!! She is a doctor at 20! We finished Secondary together and she was 14 then!! If its Brain,I give it to her. What impresses me is the fact that she wasnt really the book here, book there type. She had a life outside her books and she is a novel addict if there is anything like that!!! In our first year in the university, Maths was a general and compulsory course for all science students, and the exams was a night mare for all most all the students. We all came out complaining and even weeping. She complained bitterly too about the exams, so were like kind of consoles that if she could complain about an exams, then it was really terrible. To our utmost surprise, she had the highest and best performance in the ENTIRE University! Small but mighty brains...Congrats to her once again!

APPLE said...

Congratulation.

I don't think there would ever be a post that won't attract haters. Kudos gurl. Aint easy @ all cos I know how much med students in my sch suffer + all the stress involved

My Brother Graduated as a doctor @ 21 from uniben and became a consultant @ 30, But with ASUU strikes these days she shld be celebrated. I wish her a brighter future ahead.

Anonymous said...

Guess she doesn't want u all to feel bad bt to her , she knows she did great , so she had to complain too that the exam was somehow..equation balance
