This is a horrible thing to do. . .
If they didn't want criticism,,, then why did they have to do what they did. . .
I seriously don't have an idea of what is prompting these leaders into such inhumane acts... And yet they have the guts to tell us to be silent about it...
C'mon... Subjecting us to suffering...>>> e.g We pay for our roads,,, and now there ain't gon be no fuel subsidy... How much do we earn anyways??? Do they really expect us to suffer in silence like fools???
I guess some people have forgotten that this is democracy,,,and we are the electorate... They can as well say they want to change the form of government to maybe a 'Totalitarian' form,,, so that our mouths would be sealed and we shall have no say in any matter. . .
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH!!!
Nigeria is in trouble oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Nigeria is going back to its tyrannical state. I think its safe to say this needs to be brought to the international scene. I REALLY CANT BELIEVE IT. they are also giving an even bigger chance for countries with ulterior motives and secret agendas such as the US and UK to mingle into Nigerian affairs and even deploy people to "watch" over Nigeria while they do what they've always wanted to do all along.
THEY DID SAY THE WORLD WILL END THIS YEAR, AND NIGERIA IS GONNA GO OUT WITH A BANG! *sarcasm.... not really*
I now understand why NTA News has not been feeding us with the OccupyNigeria updates. The Govt rep that suppose to feature on ChannelsTV FACE OFF, did not show up last night too. I now understand why..
Lets see how far they can go..
If you do not know how to create a free blog, read: How to create a free blog" and create your blog today so we can use it to OccupyNigeria , the more.
God bless Nigeria
If anybody come to this blog again and persuaded Nigerians that they should calm down a bit, may Almighty God punnish them and add to their agony the way masses are suffering. We hv to be very vigilant bcos there is more to this since IMF is already involved by telling countries like Ghana, Cameroun, Nigeria etc to remove their subsidy
Linda, i hv a stron feeling that the Nigerian government will warn u soon to stop posting abt this fuel subsidy here....GEJ n his cohorts hv spilled so many blood n increased the cries of the Nigerian masses. Where r the celebrities that said GEJ was worth it? ALIBABA the comedian, and his colleagues are suddenly quiet. His facebook wall is suddenly silent. All of u r hypocrites.
Before making major steps like removal of fuel subsidy, certain things shld hv been put in place 2cushion the effects on the poor masses. E.g.(constant power supply to help with all the fuel consuming generators, federal govt reduced transportation for the ordinary civil servant, good n emergency health care, good roads since bad roads consumes more gas etc.)..did they consider the effects, weigh the pros n cons? How many %age of the Nigerian population r poor, broke, rich n super rich? What abt the persioners that hardly get paid? Will they survive d heat of this blast? If they make the basic human necessities reachable, affordable n available, the impact of this high gas price will def not hv been too much. Tell me how will a person survive on 30k per month salary now? No wonder kidnappin, n robbery is on the increase. These are just 2 mention a few. SHAME ON GOODLUCK JONATHAN! SHAME ON THE PRESENT GOVT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA! I weep for my beloved country.
Just Imagine!where is onyediking, sorry onyedislave dat called commenters illiterates cos most of us are against d fuel subsidy removal?i wish to see what he'll write about d extent d FG is willing to go in other to shut Nigerians up.hope d oponu wont just write hmmnn&advertise his bullshit blog.onyediwatever...im waiting for ur dumb comment o.*straightface*
Everything the Executive of the FG is doing is inciting people to rebel. Even animals won't tolerate this kind of leadership, or are the trying to turn Nigeria into a George Orwell book. Whatever sha!!! I identified some of the options Nigerians have in this crisis on my blog. I pray that God gives all of you the fortitude to weather this storm.
Linda leave them. Hehehehe. Dem still dey learn work
The battle line has been drawn.
is it only radio and tv den dere is something fishing mark my waords nuthing will break niegria but dis evil govt
This is really stupid if true. Why do we have so many unintelligent people in Nigerian leadership
Enough of this nonsense! We should call a referendum! Does the Nigerian constitution accommodate this, I wonder
Startın 4rm d presıdnt dwn 2 all hıs cabınets n evry1 ın govt supportıng dıs subsıdy removal, may d fıre n thunder of God strıke u all.u cn stop all d tv n radıo buh def not God,verı soon,hıs wrath shall b upon u all,d blood of d ınnocents cıtızens wıl ask u,by den u wıl pray 4 death 2 come buh ıt wnt n u wıl all b ın agony so dt u cn knw hw ıt feels
they should come & censor blogs & social networking sites too. Fucking twats
HELP! HELP! People shout with me till the world hears our voice HELP! HELP! We can't do this alone o! My God GEJ has killed us. Even d peaceful kano protesters r been shot at n teargased. This police unjudicial killing must stop! HELP! HELP!
Can you just imagine this nonsense? Nigerian Politicians are lawless and heartless.
has nigeria turned into north korea?!!!! or is 9ja under dictatorship?!!!!
Linda, please tell me this is not true! I was elated a few minutes ago because I had just seen pictures of Christians guarding Muslims in Kano state and I wanted to check your blog to get a feel of people's thoughts on that only to see this...now I am filled with dread. please tell me this is a sick joke.
Nigeria is INDEED in trouble! Wahala dey! So GEJ has turned out to be the devil incarnate? I don't know what to say......I just dey sidon dey look. 2012 is going to be an interesting year for the entity known as Nigeria. Its either we do something as a people about our situation or sink like a ship stranded in the middle of the ocean. The choice is ours!
Jonathan is incompetent.
Dictators, re gonna Burn in the PIT of HELL.... GEJ yu ll nt live for Ever oh!!! That is a Promise. You and yur fellow law makers are well over 60.... So we the youth have a lot to live for, and we will nt let yur Mid- live crisis deluded decisions deter us from speaking our mind.
God is nt asleep!!!
I can't sleep cos I ve spent my 1 weeks budget in two days, lost my dad and I am worried how my younger ones and I will survive this... So I ve decided to pray hard, till my voice is heard.
No Linda they are nt more powerful. Hw many Nigerians do u think have access to d internet? Very few. Radio especially is still d largest means of passing information across.
Half d pple on twitter make noise only on twitter and it ends there! Smh
Omg!!Its Only God Dat can Deliva Us....GEJ wants 2Kill us the Masses...Please let's embark on the strike n protests...its the only way
God wil help our country.aunty linda gudmorning
Shame on the broadcasters if they choose to remain silent! Perharps their wives go to an exclusive market stocked by Patience Jonathan or their kids school at American Inter Sch with Fed Govt scholaship! No wonder Wazobia's OPJ who is usuallly so outspoken all of a sudden was sounding like Jona's PRO since Tue?!
God abeg do sumtin...b4 dis country turn to Arab countries...wherE all dem movie stars nd musican wen support gudluck abi pdp or gudluck give dem monei make dem talk.... ????
This is serious! Like WTF???
These goes to show the kind of government we have. If they are truly sincere with the intentions, then why go this far? Don't people have the right to voice the opinions again? Are we in a military regime? Finally there true colours are coming out.
Dis country is in trouble o, is dis wot dis selfish pple call democracry, sumfin needs 2 b done fast b4 we all die @ d mercy of our so calld leaders
U allow goodluck jonathan to be president and sEe wat happens. This guy is an ..... Jonathan so ara e.!!!! To ba fe ki epe awon ipinle naija ko di e ati awon family e. So gbo abi o dahun! Sho ara e! A ti kilo fun e.
they are idiots. we have freedom of speech last time i checked. Awon onirase oloriburukus.
He should sha be careful what he posts on fb/twitter/et al... We want him safe & alive... Govt doesn't like any form of confrontation sly/subtle/open/WOREFA...
I can still recall clearly what happened to the corper who tried to expose Buhari's activities at the last polls, now he's dead & his family can't forget the loss in a hurry! We've always known about the cartels/cabals in our country, and we do know they will stop at nothing to deal with whoever they perceive is a threat to their selfish agenda.
I guess we'd have to get ready to fight dirty
How was Military rule worse than this?
yes is true same here in Vision FM Abuja
Since we all no ϑ type of government we have nw. Its time to fight for our right.
Make the war start..seriously looking for rifflz and magazinz, is time 2let these politicians knw that nigerians are not dumb people.
One thing the Govt must understand is that we can not be bamboozled with their fictitous promises of trying to save the subsidy for somefin better.even if they have good intesions about the subsidy removal, this is still the wrongest way to go about it without putting some vital amenities in place to cushion the effect this will have on the entire nation. And forgeting the ripple effect this will have. we will go to any length to support our strike action.Believe me they dont know whats coming to them.the Govt is very selfish, inhuman, insensitive and and very unpatrotic to this nation's cries
and they have failed us woefully.
we no go gree o we no go gree.N65 na him we want.........
It's only God Almighty that can come to our rescue in this country.
What is the FOI Bill they passed just b4 election, ....the FG led by Goodluck Jonathan is a big joke! ... this is a sign of insecurity and also it shows that this govt. cannot be trusted!
una eye don clear... instead of them to tackle the real issues in naija they were there chasing gay people up and down... now we are complaining that the govt is not good... confused people... SMH
DOOM'S DAY!!!
Please don't mix things up Linda!
The radio and t.v stations have not been bought over. Rather the NBC has restricted the Electronic Press (EP) from talking about it. And because the NBC regulates the 'EP', our hands are tied.
That does not go to say we have been bought. These are two different things. We are just as vexed about this development, hence our divulging the info.
We are all fighting for the same cause!
The media has put us to shame. I noticed it too. I think they have also been warned not to talk about boko haram (because the coverage of xmas day bombings was soooooo slow on the local media- it was CNN, BBC and Aljazeera that broke the news). However, Punch newspaper has been on point (kudos to them). So much for freedom of the press. They should cover their eyes in shame. We will fight the battle with or without them. The social network is a bigger, better and faster form of communication and mass action.
Aluta continua, victora ascerta
lol...linda d differenc is clear dis our leader's are hypocrate i lurv don jazzy comment on twitter.
As much as I would like to believe this I believe this story is unfounded and a load of crap. Linda get a life and if you like don't post this.
So they want to remove "freedom of speech" subsidy? Gross abuse of power.
I weep for Nigeria.
Hmmmm. I think they are just joking. The blogs are there to carry our messages and give us updates. Besides, we have our bbs and the stuffs. In this era of infor tech, nothing can be censored.
It high time we show some actions to dis rulers called politicians, how would d masses be suffering 4 dis subsidy removal.
No doubt Linda - blogs such as yours and social networking platforms are indeed more powerful.. Use 'em!
Sadly, blogs, twitter and Facebook won't get to the real masses that radio and nta can! How will we educate those in rural towns and villages? We surely neeed everyone on board in this fight for a new Nigeria. No more of corrupt greedy fools taking us as peasants. Enough is enough!
Those who have been persuaded and misled to believe that the removal of fuel subsidy is for the good of the nation in the long run, do NoT be foolishly deceived. Where Nigeria currently is, anything that evokes pain or suffering on the masses has NO benefit to the nation in the long or short run! Since when has this govt been doing things for the good of the nation? Do not be deceived whereby each of them is lavishing in wealth with millions invested in properties globally. Yet the masses keep suffering with 50%+ of our population living under the poverty line. The only subsidy that needs to be removed is the greed and selfishness of visionless leaders, it is called corruption and it is much more deeper than I can explain on here.
It has happened b4. Not surprised. Not surprised at all.
No wonder opj of wazobia fm said yesterday that no one should call in and complain about the subsidy...shame on them all! so this is democracy? freedom of expression, communication and all? i wont be surprised if there is a military coup soon! smh!!!
you think they can't censor blogs or other means of social networking..hmmmm got only 2 words for you "VIRUS ATTACK" sooooooo verrrrrrry simple and easy i tell you... sidon for there...these people are dangerous ohhh...**pulls ear** make una tread carefully...
THOSE WHO WANT TO PROTEST SHOULD LOOK FIRST FOR THE OWNERS OF THE COMPANIES CHEATING LIFE OUT OF THE NIGERIAN MASSES.
The oil companies that benefited from the sharing of the subsidy payments:
1. Oando Nigerian Plc., N228.506 billion;
2. MRS, N224.818 billion;

4. Bovas & Co. Nig. Ltd, N5.685 billion;
5. Obat; N85 billion

N/B: OANDO is run by Wale Tinubu

4. MRS Oil is run by Aliko Dangote's brother, Sayyu Dantata and others.
Youths the FGN is not our enemy. The real enemies are those unseen hands in the cabal who have positioned themselves to perpetually reap us off. They are busy ochestrating riots and hoping that Mr. President would rescind his decision so that they can laugh and call him 'weak'. They never imagined this would happen. Its not a PDP or ACN or CPC matter. Its a decision that has been made purely for the purpose of getting our country back on track just like many others recently made. By the time we are back on track there will be enough for everyone's need and nothing for anyone's greed. We have no business with NLC demonstrations especially when NLC leadership has refused to read in-between the lines. With Subsidy Removal no cabal will see need to block the building of refineries. Nobody will traffic petrol illegally across our land borders and Nigeria's actual consumption will show naturally and can be catered for. Long Live Nigeria!!!
Democracy my foot...what we have here in Nigeria is 'demon'-cracy!
I honestly fil all ds "start strike on Monday" na strategy.Y do i tink so?
if u want to make d govt realise d consequences of deir action, den d strike shld av bn immediate bt sayin dat d strike will start on monday wil give d govt time to visit dem 1 after d oda wt GMG full of cash.
d strike will den start as plannd bt by d end of the second day,NLC,NUJ or wateva will den come out dat dey av reached an agreement for the price of PMS @ N120.by den, dey wld av gained alot.
WAT A SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we youths shouldnt back down until it's reversed to its original price.
PLS AND PLS .LETS FITE DIS COURSE 2GEDA
Anonymous 9:10am..... U are a big fool and it is you that should get a life not Linda. Cheap MUMU that has been bought over with 10 kobo... How can you tell Linda to get a life when you lack one?
This a lady that has taken the risk of airing the groanings of the poors masses at her own detriment and you open that ur stinking mouth to shun her....
Please, hypocrites like you are henceforth banned from this blog otherwise we'll all invoke the venom of hell upon you!!! Mstteeww
No please,This isnt true, this isnt happening in our country,i guess its a mix up,a joke or rumour.
US and UK invading nigerian matters in 4...3...2...
all those free bags of rice during GEJ campaign were worth it *sarcasm*
What's truly wrong with them? Well, they don't have the power to shut down more than 500 entertainments blogs in Nigeria, Right?
what does this tell us? d media is being controlled by the government. no freedom of expression rather its freedom of expressing what the government wants to hear.
they say fuel subsidy removal is for nigeria's best interest. why r they not telling us in what way???
i strongly think we need a revolution.
n linda, pls be very careful cos very soon they'll come warning u to stop blogging bout ds issue n they can even kill. cos they r all evil, occultic set of demons called leaders
This is the hand-work of USA they want our oil, look at what is going on in other countries that have oil they created a need for war so that they can come in and drain the oil. Be careful Nigerians.....no matter what do not accept their their support or help, they only care for the oil. The last thing on their mind is how stop the war or the problems, left to them we should all die and spare them our ugly faces.
Nigerians, this is a fight to finish o, if we don't fight this fake government...i fear that their end game will be worst o. we have to open our mouth or else they will sell this country
@anonymous January 5, 2012 12:01 PM
That your list is a distraction and a ploy to confuse the uninformed. 90% of those on that list are GEJ's friends and financiers of his election. Are you daft to believe he would want to hurt them after giving them national awards? open your daft brain, the victims here are the poor masses. With or without subsidy, Oando's bottomline is not affected. Mr Wale Tinubu's selling price for PMS is N140. with subsidy, the masses pay him N65 and govt gives him the bal N75 after about 30days while without subsidy, he collects his fuel N140 from the masses freeing money for the corrupt politicians to steal and wouldnt have to wait for 30days. That list there is for those who imported the most oil into Nigeria (so got paid more subsidy on litres of PMS) and not necessarily those that falsified documents. The bulk stops at GEJ's table, He hires and can fire the GMD of NNPC, Customs, police or whoever. he should curtail the leakages, smuggling or wat have you and not just impoverish the already poor masses because it appears the easy way out
No wonder anytime you call Cool FM to discuss the mata, Freeze says a categorical NO!!
Abeg, army overthrow this govt jare. They are nothing but dictators. At lease if na army, I'll know they are dictators so what I see is what I get. Not these animals in human skin.
We were told to expect a bomb on New Year Day. We misunderstood and thought it would be from Boko haram. Little did we know that it would come from our dear president in the form of fuel deregulation. The bomb has detonated. gbooooooom ----- gboooooom. Ebele Jonathan has claimed the responsibility of the January 1st bomb blast that affected all Nigerian masses. Mother of all bombings... moreso, for those of us who av been running for war, i gues its high time u and i prepare for one.... Sovereign National Conference or Revolution... dats the only answer to GEJ's action.
