Billionaire Bizman Dehinde Fernandez Abandons Kano Properties

After marrying a woman from Kano, Haleema Fernandez and getting one of the highest ranking chieftancy titles from the state, billionaire business man and one of Africa's richest men, Ambassador Dehinde Fernandez built one of the biggest palatial homes in the state, a two-storey building replica of one of his homes in Europe located on Alu Crescent. He also acquired quite a number of properties in the state, including one of the largest horse stables in the country, which he has since abandoned, horses taken away.

The billionaire hasn't been back home in a while, leaving his properties to rot, and with the crisis going on in the North, he will probably not be back anytime soon.

Who is he?...

The billionaire African diplomat Antonio Deinde Fernandez.

The Central African Republic’s ambassador to the United Nations travels across the world in one of six private jets and enjoys being chauffeured around in a pink Rolls-Royce. When dining out, he takes over the entire restaurants to avoid encountering riffraff.

A Yoruba tribal chief, his family motto is "agbomeji kii momi nikoto", meaning "two rams cannot drink from the same bucket".

Ambassador Fernandez, has a luxurious home in New York and Edinburgh.

Ambassador Fernandez is a prominent businessman and has been described as one of the richest men in Africa.

Ovation International, the African equivalent of Hello! magazine, described him as the "guardian of panache and prosperity" and was so pleased to secure a photo shoot with him that it spread the feature over 40 pages.

The magazine said: "Renowned and well-known around the globe, the tall, dark and refined man of commerce and diplomacy is an embodiment of good form, surrounding himself with exquisite things only money can buy."

A graduate of Columbia University, Ambassador Fernandez insists on travelling in style and his private jets are said to be furnished with every possible convenience. His fortune is said to be based on exports of bauxite, oil and diamonds.

His home in New York is a well-fortified island with all the services of a small town, including a fire station.

In his native Lagos Island, he has built a tower named after himself.

Alongside business interests, Ambassador Fernandez has a diplomatic career stretching back to 1966 and is the Central African Republic’s UN representative. He is on first-name terms with several world leaders, doubles as the republic’s deputy minister of foreign affairs, and is head of the oil company Petro-Inett.

But his career has not been without controversy. The ambassador has a long track record of unconventional business deals in Africa and is said to have made powerful enemies.

In 1989, he tried, unsuccessfully, to use his diplomatic immunity to prevent his former American wife from being awarded title to the couple’s 4 million estate in New York as part of a divorce settlement.

The wrangle went as far as the Oval Office, with former President George Bush being briefed on the appeal.

Earlier this year, Ambassador Fernandez threatened to sue the decorating firm Ogilvie J Rolland after it posted pictures of the work it had done on his Edinburgh property on its website

Efico...na you write his biography or are you related to da man. No ya mak einadd mine own... You forgot to mention that he really made his money by selling arms. He was, and I believe still, a major arms dealer...he started even before the Nzeribes of the world opened their eyes to the money in that business. He also had one of the largest divorce settlements in the Uk.

He denies ever being married to Erelu Dosunmu o! They were partners at some point and have a love child - a girl.

E be like say he is one of those blacks who will sell their fellow men to the westerners for money (think old slave trade). He reeks of blood diamonds, arms, etc. I wonder who made him ambassador sef. His influence even reach the UK Royal Family.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/1999/may/22/nelsonmandela

"But his career has not been without controversy. In 1984 he hit the headlines in Swaziland when the parliament tried to question his appointment as roving ambassador with the rank of deputy finance minister. After being ordered by the royal family not to intervene, MPs dropped the issue."

Chikaka said...

Re_Erelu, he denied the girl she claims she had for him.

Screw him and his money...fucking old school-bloodmoney-white man wannabe...

Anonymous said...

Anyone with an ounce of sense (and a few Euros) would get out of Kano. Nigeria is the last place on earth to CHOOSE to live, you go there make money and get out.

Anonymous said...

The man is African and proud. What is wrong with being Ogboni? We like hypocrisy and condemning what is indigenous to us.Japanese, India, China were also colonised but they stuck to their religion and culture. Today they are world powers. We chose to be copy cats and we are not getting any where. Today one of the borrowed religion is being used to swindle the poor masses all in the name of properity even when enabling environment dont exist. The other has virtually been hijacked by a murderous sect that has no value for any ones life. The earlier we rediscover ourselves, appreciate our culture and embrace growth of home grown technology the better for us all.

A lot of tinz iu guyz ave said.Anyway....He has money buh it could just be clean or otherwise.who knows?

He was married to Erelu Abiola Dosumu. If you need evidence there are pictures to prove it ( go and do your research properly before making such comments).

There is nothing wrong with being rich and knowing how to spend your money! unlike the typical Nigerians that we see these days who think the the brighter the colour the better.

People should stop hating.. If someone works for his wealth and takes care of his fam, the person should be respected not despised. If anyone here feels envious the best thing to do,would be to re-evaluate urself and ur beliefs. And then go work for your own fortune.
