Radio 1 Hackney Weekend line-up announced. D'Banj included

Hackney Weekend is one of UK's biggest music events, happening June this year and featuring top UK music acts. And our own Koko Master has been listed and confirmed to be on the concert. Good positioning for Nigerian music.

Good for him. I think he's been doing well for himself...I can't lie it's not easy to get to where he's @ now. I like many other Nigerian acts like Omawunmi, Asa, Tuface, Sound S, MI, Flavour, Praiz, Eldee & some other genuine talents but sometimes when I go to see them live, I come out dissatisfied. Good thing is there's improvement that is ongoing.

I am a regular at concerts etc and i must connfess that anytime nigertians actors, actresses, comedians and artists male and female take a stand anywhere in the world there is a certain kind of excitement.yes we need to improve in some areas but we have done remarkably well in the short time we started our thing!!!

Dbanj is so overated, Wizkid would have been a much better choice..He's definitely the man of the moment, trust me whenever they play ANY of Wizkids tracks in clubs here in the UK, EVERY1 gets on their feet instantly and the party becomes hyper, Dbanj's tracks come on and the party slows down again lol

I have lived in London for almost 25 years I have never heard of Hackney Weekend... That's ghetto of London, would love to know the address of this gig. UK'S BIGGEST MUSIC EVENT? eerrr HMMM Well done if it is true!

hackney of all places na ghetto be that who wan go there?

The problem is Wizkid's live performance is whack, he sounds good on record but people don't attend live shows to listen to you mime your songs. That's why I said they need to practice more for live performances. Asa is so good on live shows for instance.

Hackney is what Mushin/Ajegunle is to Lagos and it's one of the most deprived boroughs in the whole UK. The local government is using this show to ease the tension and make them look good. I live in London for 15years and I know the who politics 'fingy'
