Ella was a second year student of Marine Science, University of Lagos. She was religious. She worked at The Rock Foundation Mission (TRF) Fellowship, Unilag. All her friends say she was a darling...she was well liked.
Some days ago, she went to visit a guy, her friend, someone she trusted. This friend drugged her.
Why did he drug her? Her friends believe it was to have his way with her. The drug must have been too strong for her because she passed out and never opened her eyes again. She died the next day at a hospital in Ikeja.
Ella was just 17+ years old.
She will be buried today at Atan Cemetry...Yaba, Unilag Road.
This is such a sad story. So unfortunate.
May her soul rest in peace...amen. And may God grant her family the fortitude to bear this great loss.

heard the story like 2days ago from a friend in yankee, my question where is the so call friend(culprit)now?, what sort of drugs did he use on her?so many questions, but no answers available.

I hope the criminal that did this to her is rotting in jail. Can you imagine? When they are millions of chicks who are willing to do whatever without the aid of foreign substances you want to drug and rape someone. May he get in jail and get drugged and raped there too

It is way sadder when the victim is a girl who normally doesnt live the life of a typical university girl. For this mere reason, her friend(?) should be made to face the maximum measure of the law. If investigations conclude it was murder, I hope he finds rest with God, and if it is concluded as a manslughter, may he learn a lesson or 2 in jail. That is all I can say.
This is a sad one for us all right now and very heavy for us to swallow.Emamnuella(Ella) as she was fonldy called was a darling a combination of brain and beauty,l am still shock how a trusted friend could do such a thing. The guy in question was a known person to the family,he had been outside the country and came for last hoilday December ,Ella went out with him on monday afternoon and never came back to the school or to the house.The mother spoke last with her on monday afternoon and by monday evening all through till Wednesday she could not get through to Ella again her line was switched off, she planned visiting the school on wednesday to know why her line has been switched off,she had wanted to be in the school by Tuesday but her senior brother told their mother probably she had battery problem and she promised to be in the school by wednesday only for the mother to receive a call from the guy's mother about Ella's death on wednesday morning....such a cruel one.Ella l will personally miss you...may your soul rest in peace.

This is so painful! Such a beautiful and young girl. What is this world turning into? The culprit should face the law. He´s such a coward for not taking no for an answer. What a sad story i can't imagine how her parents must be feeling right now. It is not a very good experience when a parent have to bury thier child. My parents buried my brother and I tell you up till now they still feel the loss. I hope that the parents can bear this loss.

I actually came back to read this again. It's so sad. And I have the strong feeling that the parents won't press charges because they are family friends (that's if that story is true). I'm out of the country at the moment and I know how how some of the guys here behave when they go to naij for Christmas. They act like they are the smoothest things since ice-cream, "speaking "fone" and acting like they have all the money in the world, when really they are just managing here and their only saving grace is the pound-naira conversion rate.
I'm just so pained for this girl's family... beginning of a new year... I pray her name is in The Book and I just pray her soul rests in peace... and I pray for the guy too, he needs all the help he can get cos without the right help, this is the beginning of a miserable, guilt-ridden life for him.

You people need to take a chill pill. Did she die from drug complications?. How are you people sure that she didn't visit the guy to do drugs?. Did the guy confess that he drugged her or was it just an assumption?. The poor girl could have died from anything apart from drugs. Let us be careful of how we judge people before we crucify an innocent person. Nevertheless, if the guy drugged her to death, it is very bad and the law will take its course. I pray for God's compassion to be on both of them.

Subpar healthcare is killing people in nigeria period. Both the guy dat drugged her (if he did) and the government that continue to fail to address healthcare in nigeria are responsible for her death. Her blood is on both their hands.

We all don't know what Ella went to visit for, We really don't know if it was rape or complications, what we do know is that she was reported at the hospital the next day. for starters the family needs to ask the hospital for their diagnosis and the cause of death. It's just sad that she is dead, another wasted promise, R.I.P and I hope you fufilled your life's mission.

while we all mourn ella's death, i think this is an opportunity for parents to question themselves on how they bring up their boys. it's is so easy to scream 'hang the killer' but the sad reality is majority of nigerian parents are breeding future rapists and paedophiles.just let them know it is okay if their sexual advances are turned down.sex isnt meant to be an ego trip.
The boy that killed Ella was not a family friend. He was a former neighbor and Trust me(justice will be done).
