Photos: Resign now or face impeachment- Kogi APC leaders tell state governor, Yahaya Bello

Federal lawmakers, state chairman and other top members of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi state have asked for the immediate resignation of Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello over his double registration during the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration.

The Kogi APC chieftains led by Senator Dino Melaye held a press briefing in Abuja where they commended the INEC for detecting the double registration by Governor Bello.

The political leaders called for the immediate resignation of Yahaya Bello or else they would mobilize their members in the Kogi state House of Assembly to begin an immediate impeachment process. Yesterday, INEC released a statement accusing the state governor of performing an illegal act by registering twice for a voters card.

Yahaya had first registered on January 30th 2011 in Wuse, Abuja and then did another registration for the second time on Tuesday May 23rd 2017 in the government House, Lokoja. INEC says no electoral staff was asked to register him.

This Dino is feeling all self-righteous b'cos his ark enemy's name has been mentioned in an illegality. Why has Dino not resigned following all the accusations against him in the past. INEC should better go and buy a louder whistle cos I also reg.in Abj b4 relocating to Lag 4yrs ago. That disenfranchised me, cos INEC doesn't have a central database of registered voters that would enable them vote from any part of the country & I was asked to travel to my reg centre in Abj 2 vote. Presently, I have no choice than to re-reg here in Lag cos I must vote come 2019. So INEC expects a sitting Gov. 2 travel out of his State to FCT b4 he can vote thruout the elections. I jst even recall a case of some1 who lost his 2legs in a crash while travelling out of Lag to vote in 2015. INEC had better go put their house in order in this IT age & stop suffering p'ple upanda.

@ anonymous, you don't need to reregister again you just have to ask to be transferred to lagos and another card would be printed with your new location. FYI INEC has a central database.

There is nothing like corruption here!!!
This is pure witch-hunting!!!
Please, I will like to see in the constitution of Nigeria where it says that rrmegistering twice with INEC is an impeachable offence for an elected officer!!!!

Sincerely, I see nothing wrong in what this guy has done. In a spate of 6yrs, I believe one can change his polling station if condition warrants it. Somebody like me registered in Lagos in 2010, transfered to Abuja in 2013. Does INEC say if I registered in Abuja in 2014 to be able to vote in my new like location (Abuja) in 2015 election is an offence?
