Jitu Singh, 25, had been in the "Well of Death", stunting with another rider and two cars when the performance suddenly went wrong. As Jitu was performing a daredevil stunt round the Well, his bike hit a car being driven by one of his friends who regularly performs with him, Feroz Ansari. Feroz's car lost balance afterwards and fell on Jitu, crushing him.
Footage of the accident showed people trying to help push the car off the biker. They eventually succeeded and he was rushed to two hospitals after the horrific incident but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival at the second. Speaking on the death of his friend and stunt partner, Feroz said:
"Jitu was a good friend of mine. My car had slowed down and when I was trying to get off the track, Jitu’s vehicle hit the car from behind. My car skidded off the wooden blanks and fell on him."Feroz Ansari and the organiser of the stunt show in Odisha state, India, have since been arrested in connection with the incident on Sunday.
Below is the video of the fatal accident.
