Rio 2016: Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare crashes out of 100m final

Top Nigerian athlete, Blessing Okagbare has crashed out of Rio 2016 Olympics 100m finals. She came 3rd in her semi-final heat with a time of 11.09seconds and as a result couldn't make it to the finals as only athletes that ran under 11seconds made it to the final.

The women's final race was won by Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson, 24. Others who competed in the final included Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Tori Bowie, Ta Lou, Dafne Schippers, Michelle-Lee Ahye and English Gardner,

Blessing Okagbare won Bronze in the Long Jump at the 2008 Beijing Olympics at the age of 16.

Blessing is still in the Rio Olympics though and should be in the 200m and the 4x100 relays.

She hasn't won any individual sprint medals at the Olympics but we're rooting for her!

Nigeria! Nigeria!! Nigeria!!!
The self proclaimed "giant of Africa".
Your children weep for you.
You that was blessed beyond measure with overflowing resources both human and material.
Yet you could not utilise them to attain greatness.
Other less endowed countries are performing wonders with proper planning, prudent and transparent management of their little resources.
But you have been hijacked and held hostage by your enemies who consist of all manner of thieves, crooks, bandits, rogues, gangsters and criminals who rape you endlessly.
Your children are scattered abroad in search of meaningful livelihood.
Many have perished in the icy waters of the Mediterranean and in the smoldering sands of the Sahara. Many have taken the citizenship of other countries.
Your rulers do not care; they suck the blood of new born babies, they eat the future of the
youth and they deprive the old of their daily bread.
They say "we are the powerful; who can stop us".
You who should have been the pride and shinning light to all Negroes the world over.
Many men of wisdom including the late Nelson Mandela lamented at the squandering of your riches.
You are now worse than Sodom and Gomorrah.
Many generations of your children have lived with hope and died without seeing your greatness.
When will your enemies be brought to judgment.
When will your children get justice.
Nigeria your time is running out.
