1. To show off of course...why else? Lol
And 2, to encourage other ladies out there to keep working hard and keep believing in themselves. You don't need any aristo to give you anything...any woman with will and drive can give herself anything she wants!
By this time two years ago, I didn't have much...but I never stopped believing in myself and I never stopped working hard. I can't even begin to count how many businesses I put my hands into before one paid off - Blogging! I told myself that I will make it in this life one day as my own woman and on my own terms, that no man will ever take away my dignity...and I did it. So can you! Yes, you! You have the power! And with God on your side, you are unstoppable!
This is probably a good time to say this... I'm starting a youth empowerment programme called I'd rather be SELF MADE, but I will tell y'all more about it later.

Congratulations! But I have issues with this your narrative of female empowerment. I have seen you deploy it many times in your blog. You must recognize that you are an aberration. The structural inequality in Nigerian society make it difficult for most women (indeed most people) to make it on their own terms. I worry about your narrative because it becomes a catalyst for society to then persecute millions of girls who may not see alternatives and who regardless of how much they try, are unable to make it. It becomes "If LInda Ikeji can make it", then so can you. But for every Linda Ikeji, there are many Ifeomas' and Lolas' and Imabongs' whose hopes for independence and success are dashed as a result of the crippling inequality and oppression that women face in this country. Secondly regardless of your success I am sure you continue to face barriers as a result of your gender. An example could be with respect to marriage where successful women in Nigeria are often perceived as threatening which limit their chances of "marital bliss". If your foundation is truly to be about female empowerment it must begin by recognizing the structural and institutional issues that women face in this country and challenging it. The main fight must take place on that level. Otherwise it's just another NGO that one uses to stroke their own egos. Congrats Lindo!!! Who would have thought that blogging could bring such wonderful things???? It goes to show that it is not just what you do but how you do it that puts the spice in things..... I am really proud of you. Of course God plays the numero uno factor bcos if God no stamp am, e no fit happen. I myself work a 9-5 and would love to step out on my own but I have 2 problems, fear and ignorance. Praying to God to help me overcome. Also like the fact that you said that one does not need a man to progress in life.
