Timi Dakolo and wife escape Bayelsa helicopter crash

2007 West African Idol winner Timi Dakolo and his wife Busola have a lot to be thankful for. It has emerged that the couple who attended Oronto Douglas' father's burial in Bayelsa today, were meant to fly on the same military chopper that claimed the lives of Governor Yakowa, Gen Azazi and others, but Timi decided at the very last minute to travel by road and not fly.

We thank God for him and Busola. RIP to those we lost.

I personally praise God for Timi and his wife especially since they have a young child (or two).

When we are born, its like an invisible "expiry date" is stamped somewhere on our body and every day that we live brings us closer to that date.

We really do not know the day, nor the hour, nor the way we will be called out of this life so please, everyone, lets live well.

May God rest the souls of the departed. Amen.

A wake up call to our politicians. No matter how much you loot,no matter how private your jet is,not matter how expensive your meal is (Aso rock/white house), no matter how expensive you outfit is, no matter how... Death has a way of humbling us all. We tend to forget that the life we live here on earth is a journey to our final destination (heaven or hell). My dears, Hell is as real as Heaven is. As much as we pray to make Heaven, some of us will still go to Hell. Its not enuf to pray,we all need to also act right and be close to Christ. Jonathan and the likes, even your private jets can lead you to your death,no matter how much yu maintain it,if Titanic can crash,You can too. I pray you all open your eyes to reality and stop being blinded by things of the world that will pass away.
Anyway,I'm so Happy for Timi and His beautiful wife. May Bad news not knock at any of our houses for the rest of this year. Thank God o,He alone deserves all the Glory,Honour and Adoration.

So for ur mind, all helicopters dey carry only 6 passengers abi? I have flown in over 18 and most have 9 seats (3 per row) or 12 (4 per row) depending on the type. Some very old models even have space for 2 more people near the tail. Why would he lie about it? I have seen him couple of times at PH airport and he comes across as a humble person, not pompous in any way so I don't believe he is trying to hype.

  • At 16 December 2012 at 14:46 , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Why won't he fly with Gen Azazi and the Gov? Northerners are humble unlike their southern counterparts. Speak little Hausa and they welcome you with open hands. If they recognised him, they won't mind him flying with them. Meet Abubakar's sons and you'll be amazed at how simply and easy going they are...move to the South and you will be irritated at how proud the kids can be. A South Eastern Gov's son kept asking me if I knew who he was after we were introduced. Said yes and told him his first name but the boy kept asking, wanting me to acknowledge he was the Governor's son...tot he was just a silly child.

So he wants us to believe that the Governor of Kaduna State's security detail go just let Timi hitch hike and more also laughable is that a General (Rtd) and National Security Adviser to GEJ would casually BREACH security protocols and board Timi and his wife on such a flight? Skeptical and how damn large is this helicopter self...na over carry cause this matta or what? All this personal enjoyment of government resources.

FYI: Gov. Chime is still alive and perhaps battling for his life 1. from a liver (rejects by his body) transfer or 2. Symptoms of HIV. Either way its regrettable for the people of Enugu State
