CBN donates N25million to Christmas Day Bomb Blast Victims

As part of their corporate social responsibility,  the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) this week donated N25 million to the victims of the Christmas day bomb blast at St Theresa’s Catholic Church in Madala, Niger State.

CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, said that the donation was in line with the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which was approved in 2006, enabling the bank to support people in times of need.

The CBN also donated N100m to the victims of the Kano attack in which over 200 died.

. . . . . . He should focus his CSR activities on his northern brothers-the AlmajiriS instead. Cos I think that's the breeding ground for these BH demons! And the simple question is, why did the donation for the Kano victims cumming before the Madalla's??? I'm sure this Mallam 'd not have done something for the Madalla's victims if not for the Kano incidence which affected all and sundry religious-wise.
Mtcheeeeeeeeeew.
I'm not surprised; what do you expect of a person who prefers to be addressed as a 'Mallam' and whose only professional ambition is a religious thing. *He(Sanusi)
knows nothing*.

This is no
country!

Sanusi is realy a Bigot and has run out of ideas on how to improve our financial problems, engaging in populist charity is not the forte of the CBN governor. He made this donation because he was seriously criticized for the N100million donation to BokoHaram victims of his home state. This fucking hypocritical afterthought only goes to show that SLS is partisan, insincere and can never be de-tribalized, he sees non-northerners differently
. Imagine somebody like this hypocrit becoming Nigeria's President?
He claims he is empowered by the BOFIA act to doll out money to victims, what a misinterpretation. . I have read that same act, it talks about the CBN helping through community programs, how is community program synonymous with dolling out cash directly to victims of bomb blast is beyond me. I guess he will also have to show thesame compassion for the other victims in other northern states where BOkoharam has been singing their hateful islamist songs, victims of Jos crisis, maiduguri multiple bombings and so on. That man is an ignorant die-hard religious bigot. He has worsened our financial problems and kept on dolling out impracticable policies that have only left the economy prostrating and gasping for some intelligent and feasible reforms. Not this random experiment Sanusi is doing; from taking over the commodity market, to talks about investing in the power sector, building hotels and stupid policies that show he is way above his head being the CBN governor. The man is obviously overwhelmed and is just groping in the dark. His ideas are lame and show no serious grasp of Nigeria's financial complexities. That man must not come back after the expiration of his tenure, he is a waste of Nigeria's time.

I don't understand these donations from CBN. Do they say ok, let print some money and start donating. And where are they getting the money from? since CBN is not a comercial bank, it's the nation banker FFS not some profit driven bank or multinational company. No wonder our economy is in shambles, since Sanusi can just wake up and start donating money. Never heard of bank of England donating money or American equivalent.

There were victims in Jos,Yobe,Maiduguri,Gombe and other places and nothing was done for them by the CBN. What makes Kano and-as an after thought-Madalla victims so special? Well, oga Sanusi thank u o but truly, what u do for one,do for others!!!!

Did they donate to the victims or family of the victims?

This man has gone mad! When did Central Banks start running CSR programs? This is what happens when you let borderline illiterates run entire economies!

He is part of the problems we are having on this boko haram issue. He gave Kano 100m why is he giving this people 25m. He said revenue sharing is not in favour of the North that is why the North are doing boko haram

@ Onyema Patrick: Very poignant analysis. Just hope Nigerians will rise above tribal sentiments, which brought this nincompoop to the helm of our financial system, and make appointments on the basis of competence rather than any other consideration.
