Armed Robbers Strike Again in P/H. Kill Two (Graphic Photo)

I told y'all about the incessant robberies going on lately in the garden city of Port Harcout. The dare devils struck again yesterday morning at about 9.30 am, at Everyday Emporium Supermarket, Rumuola, branch.

Some staff of the supermarket were conveying money from one branch to the other, with police escort, when the gun men, believed to have trailed them, struck.

The vehicle conveying the money was ambushed at Umurelu Street side, behind Rumuola Junction and was sprayed with bullets, killing a staff of the supermarket and a police escort. Two other policemen in a back up escort vehicle had gun shot wounds.

Graphic photo of the sad incident after the cut...

What's the Nigerian government doing to stop these killings or are they pretending it's not happening? Or is this their own method of population reduction?

ahhhhh.......dis is so inhuman,,,,,sometimes i wonder how some people loose their conscience and feelings and they see nothing wrong in terminating other people's life........like it has always been,,,,nothing will be done even if the culprits are found!!!

To the ones who lost their lives,,may their souls rest in peace...

And the Rivers State Governor is the one spear-heading the call for the removal of Fuel subsidy....

God's judgement will be upon everyone of these people who are cutting people off in their prime.... IF they want to rob, why not go to the politicians and Govt houses if they are so bold????

Violent crimes happen in every country, lives are lost everyday. In civilized climes, steps are taken to prevent crimes and when they happen, the criminals are hunted down and brought to justice. In Nigeria, the leaders are too busy looting and the masses are too busy surviving. My Fellow Nigerian, if you have the time, ask yourself these questions: Why were they moving money around in an jeep? What happened to the bullet-proof bullion vans purchased for the police? Will these deaths ever be properly investigated? Will their killers ever be caught? There a lot of other questions. Nigerians, wake up! We don't have leaders, just vampires sucking us dry. The Arab countries have shown us what must be done to our "leaders".

Are we saying with all the money floating around for politicians to enrich themselves, we cannot invest in bullet proof armored trucks?

This is just so sad to see, yet I'm concerned that we'll become desensitized to it. With each new photo Linda posts, I'm less shocked than before. Very soon, we'll start to imagine the pictures as scenes from a movie and not the real thing. Not because we don't care, but it would've become common occurrence. See the guys in the picture staring. They have sad faces, yet none of them has a digusted look on their face. They've seen it one too many times.

God help us. R.I.P. to these poor innocent lives, especially the office worker who never signed up for a life of risk like the policeman did.

7 comments for such a gory sight. yet if police shoots kidnappers like they just did in Eket, everybody will start spewing gutter yearns. I continue to advocate a shoot-at-sight philosophy for all armed criminals.

This is so sad! Don't these escorts have guns? I can see that the other person killed is a female (sitting at the back). She must be the staff of the supermarket. the supermarket is very irresponsible for allowing a lady escort a bullion van carrying money especially when it's not likely that she was armed and trained for such situations.

hmmmm
i worked in cash movement at a bank for 2 years
meeeen.... i dont know what to say

well said @Adele. The cops are hardly well trained or equipped for this, then they include a staff in their dangerous entourage.

these nigerian policemen know what happened. y is it dat in every van conveying money, a police official was involved as escort or dNPF knew about it. try transporting d mney small small, onn a bike. n c if any robbery will happen

When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing; when you see that money is flowing to those who deal not in goods, but in favors; when you see that men get rich more easily by graft than by work, and your laws no longer protect you against them, but protect them against you
...you may know that your society is doomed"

I don't know where all this wickedness is coming from. Is it a failure of our religious systems or is it a lack in society that justifies such killings? Tomorrow who would it be

This picture is really a sad one and I have been pushed by it to comment for the first time on this blog. First of all, the reason for heinous crimes like this one is the government. This criminals are very much aware of how much their country is worth and yet they live in abject poverty. The only way out is to steal because when they look at their educated peers selling recharge cards they feel there is nothing left for them to do.
Generally, the average nigerian likes to show off wealth for example and this people feel oppressed by this.To confirm this I can bet that these robberies are not to set up businesses but to wait for friday night parties and show off how much they have.
The solution to Nigeria's problem is education. The government should aim to devise a method to increase its literacy level to at least 80 percent of the population at any cost even if it means paying people to attend school. The country is suffering most of all this violence from mostly those that refused to attend school in around the year 2000 because the have seen themselves in a year where nothing awaits them and how many people are enrolling into the force?it will be very difficult for the police to contain the violence in the next 10years if nothing is done now.My conclusion is EDUCATION AND PRIVATIZATION IS THE WAY FORWARD FOR NIGERIA IF NOT, NOTHING FOR THE COUNTRY.

How is education the answer to Nigeria's problems when after receiving the so-called education, jobs are not guaranteed. It's despairing when one graduates and remains jobless after all that money wasted. The answer is not education. The answer is the systematic redistribution of wealth. Cut out corruption, let the money trickle down to the masses, create jobs. I'm not saying Education should be ceased but there are so many jobless educated people.

God will definitely punish those criminals for snuffing the life out of those innocent souls...They just killed them for money that was not even theirs!

- We need security in this country.

- The Governor of this state should look into this instead of buying choppers and lavishing state funds...
