After four years behind bars, appeal court overturns Amanda Knox' conviction

Amanda Knox and her ex boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito were released from prison this evening after an appeal court overturned their murder conviction.

They were both found guilty in 2009 of the brutal sex murder of Meredith Kercher, 21, who was found semi naked with her throat cut in her bedroom of the house she shared in Perugia, Italy.

So, if they didn't kill her, who did? You can read more about it here

That's our italian community for you. There way lot of others:The Policeman that killed his wife,The old man that lied he killed his niece n so on and so on..
That's what we get to see everyday,no news will pass by wthout a death,if it's not father killed child,it is wife killed husband...the country he get as he be jare, now I've stopped wwatching the news bcos it's all bad news.

There is no difference btw Italy n Nigeria maybe Nigeria better gan self aside frm the insecurities n all that but Italy they are ....God help them.

Since 3years now,you will think they are working towards getting to the root of the matter instead....if she is not guilty so who killed her and why do they have to give the other guy 30yrs?'?'?

so these americans have done it again,it was totally obvious that both of them played a part in murdering the girl but being caucasian and american will get you off the hook apparently.
they didn't waste any time before dealing with the black dude.the on;y person i pity in all of this is the parents of the murdered girl.

Let God be the judge, Cause he was the only other person there when the did was done. I also believe that if you are rich , You might be able to get away with murder . Spare a thought for the black guy, If he knew this was going to happen, Would he have plead gulity?. if this three did not do it, Then who did. After all the overwhelming evidence. Admit the police had a hand in their freedom, If they had done what they needed to do competently, We might not have had any reason for this injustice. Like I said before, Let God be the judge.

Rudy Guede is still in jail for 16 years for her death.

What a case. The Knox's used the media, a good PR machine, money, pizzazz and the US Embassy in Italy in their favour. The power of being an American.

Amanda Knox became the victim....

Erm...

Troy Davis= Guilty

Amanda Knox= Not guilty

Just go read the situation surrounding the case and you'll see why.

I have a feeling there's a lot Ms Knox is not saying. And its also a case of the media sensationalising the story with bias. This has fishy written alll over it. I wonder what political negotiations went on behind closed foor to warrant this completely overhaul of a verdict. hmmm! www.prgoretti.com

there wasnt conclusive evidence to put knox and sollecito at the scene of the crime or the weapon in their hands. even if they did commit the crime, prosecution failed to present a waterproof case. there wasnt even a motive for the murder. i just pity the poor black guy. getting canned for a crime he MIGHT not have commited while his accomplice walk free.

haba! its not just enough to watch the blurbs on tv or the sensationalized tabloids. Go and read the details of the case, weigh it with legalities and you will see and understand why they were set free. For one there was no established motive and all alibis were checked. The original conviction was due to sloppy police work. I am glad the system has reversed it. It is sad that could not happen for Troy Davis. Those wishing the same for Conrad Murray, I suggest you don't hold your breathe (even though i personally think all he should get is a revoked license because his boss MJ was also responsible for his own death)

THEY HAVE BUNDLED THE BLACK GUY INTO PRISON , THE FACT IS THAT THIS GIRL SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN FREED WITHOUT GETTING DEEP INTO THIS MATTER, THE BLACK GUY MAY BE GUILTY ALSO BUT THE WAY THIS GIRL WAS FREED IS VERY SUSPICIOUS TO ME AND TO MANY OTHER WISE OBSERVERS FOLLOWIN THIS CASE;; NA WAHH OOOHH

I think it's appalling that you guys are making comments like these and playing the race card. You guys can do yourself a favor of doing a google search and read about the story in its entirety. Then you can judge and find out if she's indeed guilty; from which I can deduce that she was not involve in the case. Rudy Guede was the only person whose finger print and DNA was found on the murder weapon. The Italian sensationlized this case from the get go, so no need to blame the U.S on this one.

Troy Davis story is a different case/story entirely. They are not similar in anyway.
