According to residents of the community, Nwajei beheaded his mother in their home just after she made dinner. He allegedly took some blood from her after beheading her.
He fled the scene of the incident but was later apprehended by the villagers inside a bush. When asked why he killed his mother, Nwajei said he was annoyed with her because she told him that he is not a native of the Umuchagu Osokwa village. He denied collecting her blood for rituals.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Geoffrey Ogbonna, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect would soon be charged to court.
