Five persons including a child were today burnt beyond recognition in an accident that occurred at the National Stadium flyover in Lagos today. According to reports, a commercial bus with passengers went up in flames as it descended from the flyover bridge this evening at about 6.40pm.
Officials of the Lagos state Emergency Managaement Authority LASEMA who arrived the scene after receiving a distress call, say five persons including a child, three women and a man, were burnt beyond recognition. Five others sustained serious burns and have been taken to the hospital.

God of mercy please protect all these Lagosians from all those rickety danfos, Ambode stop their operations, their danfos are old and very dangerous, 2 accidents today, 1st at anthony killed 2, injured 14, nd at stadium, killing 5 only today. Late last year a danfo burnt 14 passengers to their untimely death after the back tyre pulled off on high speed at Otedola bridge. Apparently the state government should look into these cases. The fault is always from the drivers and their commercial vehicles,

Absolutely. Very well said. Most of the vehicles are in very bad shape, nd then the drivers don't give a hoot. Killing innocent pple going about their lives, again nd again. So very sad!

Danfo that burnt 14 passengers at Otedola bridge. Just 2weeks ago my friend lost her elder sister, a registered nurse in a Danfo that went up in flames at YABA area.I am even so scared about them now, since they are the only means of transport in my area.

Ironically, the VIOs and the Road Safety Marshals would never stop the so called danfos and other yellow commercial buses for inspection. Rather, their attention is always directed at private car owners for the singular reason to make money.
