The
actor who is known for his indelible portrayal of a Southern sheriff
and appearing alongside Sir Roger Moore in the Bond films Live and Let
Die, died Saturday due to complications from diabetes.
Confirming
his death, his daughter, Lynn James wrote:
'He was the most outgoing person, beloved by everybody. I don’t think the man had an enemy. We were incredibly blessed to have had him in our lives.'
He is survived by six children. May his soul rest in peace (Amen)
