Sanusi who was represented at the event by his daughter, Shaheeda, also disclosed why he once supported her for slapping a boy in her class in Form 3
. According to the monarch, his daughter abhors any man who does not have respect for women.
“Although I won’t be there in person, I decided to send not my son but my daughter, Shaheeda to represent me. Let me tell you something about the young lady who is going to read my speech. Shaheeda is a graduate of African Leadership Academy in South Africa and a graduate from New York University as Biology major. But long before she went to African Leadership Academy, when she was in Form 3, I remember an incident that is probably relevant for today.
Her mother came to me and said: ‘You need to talk to your daughter’ and I asked her: ‘Why?’ “She said: ‘Your daughter slapped a boy in school’.
It is a bit strange so, I called Shaheeda and said: ‘Shaheeda, I heard that you slapped a boy in school. Why did you do it? Then she said: ‘Dad, that boy has no respect for women’.
So, I asked her exactly what she meant by that. It turned out that one day, during prep in the afternoon, in full class, the boy had come to her, and put his finger to her forehead and pushed it backwards, and he was in the habit of doing it to all the girls in the class. She had said nothing apparently and waited until the next day.
She walked into the prep class late, the whole class was full, and she walked up to him, slapped him, and said: ‘That was for yesterday.
So, long before we started talking about marriage and talking about whether when your husband slaps you, you should slap him back, Shaheeda had decided for herself that she would not take abuse, she would not take insult and she would not be disrespected by any man. As you will see when she presents this paper and maybe if she has the time to speak her own mind, those who are opposed to my views and those who think that I am a problem have a much bigger problem to deal with in the next generation of Sanusis", he said

I love this... Yes! As a woman don't let no man bully you.
Good father!!!!!!!
Surely controversial, but he makes sense a lot of times. I think the Northern elite should try listen to him sometimes.

I support the Emir for standing up for women. If you beat your wife in his emirate and you are reported to the authorities.... You are on your own
Oh God! Is this my father? Kai. Walahi only God can bless fathers that stand up for their daughters. My own father eh! E no dey carry me play at all. One day, I had a flat Tyre and went to tell him I'd be back shortly so I could fix it. My mum was busy saying "obirin ni e, pe driver Lo ba e see". My dad just eyed her and said so when she is stuck on the road with a flat Tyre, you want her to be at the mercy of wicked human beings Abi? He got off his bed and followed me. Stayed with me while I changed it and even taught me a sly ol trick. My father empowered me with everything he learnt for himself as a man. Maybe it's cos he wishes I was a boy. Whatever his reasons, daddy you are the best father a girl could ever have. Ose o Baba mi, omo a ke e
My wish for Shaheeda Sanusi is that she will marry a man that will love and respect her and she too will reciprocate.

Common we have school authorities don't 4get. That's why i like command secondary school jos my former school. If you slap one nd he slaps you bk is called two fighting. So to me, she took the law into her hands which is wrong (two fighting) so the two of them should be punish period. Sir if she continue like this one day she will slap who will kill her instead of simply reporting him to the right authority. Thank you CSSJ for the discipline. My opinion.
