In accordance with her dreams of being a model, she constantly shares lovely photos of herself striking model-like poses.
The Twitter page African Beauties discovered her and recently shared a few of her Instagram snaps and most people were awed by the stunning shots but one particular person was not pleased and decided to bring her down by offering an unsolicited, insulting opinion.
"(If) she was lighter, she’d be fire," the troll wrote.
Mimi saw the comment and replied him, writing:
"No thanks I wouldn’t trade my skin color for the world! Still fire tho."
Within just a few hours, her response got tens of thousands of retweets, over 50,000 likes, and hundreds of replies showing her support.
"Handled with class, I would have gone crazy mad," one user wrote.
“Your skin is perfection… he’s insecure,” another user wrote.
The Maryland-based student spoke to Elite Daily, revealing how she arrived at such confidence. She also advised women to be confident in their skin.
"I used to put myself down for the things that made me who I am today, and I can definitely say now I’ve learned to embrace self-love and appreciate the skin I’m in," Mimi said.
She added:
"Despite what others may say, you’re beautiful and should feel confident in the skin you’re in."
The incident has given Mimi some popularity and she disclosed that she intends to use it to raise awareness about colorism.
She told BuzzFeed News:
"Now I feel like I have a platform which I want to use to talk about things like that and give advice to other dark-skinned women who are going through similar situations and probably blaming themselves for it. … I actually wanted people to see that colorism is still real."

Still "hot" and not "fire".
Wow, I like her confidence and self esteem. Not the ones who allow people and circumstances to push them into bleaching. Our film industry has pushed every one in that industry to be bleaching. Even the older women oo, the older men, the young women, the young men. Like it is now their uniform. It is refreshing to still see people like Ivonne Jegede and some very few others who have not bleached. The worse is the guys, they are all bleaching, for what now? I saw one lady that acts 'mama' the other day in a movie, I couldn't recognise her, she has bleached so badly. What you are selling to non Nigerians in your movies is that we are not black people, but people who have roasted plantain colour.
Black is also beautiful.
get a bigger penis here
All shades of beautiful!!!
Datz nonsense ...she has a perfect shining black skin!
What I dont get in this colour issue is what you will get as a fair person that a black person can't get.
Rubbish!!! My dear, you are beautiful and clean, period!!!
What I dont get in this colour issue is what you will get as a fair person that a black person can't get.

Bleach would destroy your skin say NO to BLEACH it reduces your life span.
Tone Mackinwa shey you see your mate.
Nigerian ladies will rather die of cancer than stay this dark, their own low self esteem and insecurity no be here, and sometimes it's the men they blame for being shallow enough to choose lighter skinned women over them, but the women don't know that it's cause of the insecurity they feel in their dark skin that make the men go away. If u're pretty u're pretty no matter what skin of u have, and if u're ugly, u can soak urself in hypo, u're still ugly. Seen a lot of ugly light skinned girls.
What hurts me most is when some of them end up red like apples, some side red, some side black, green and even blue, and then the smeel when they sweat or are under the sun. Saw one of them with an umbrella unde mild sun and was still sweating, na wa.
They feel like it will cure their low self esteem
