Brave Naval Officer ensured he died alone after discovering landmine while fighting Boko Haram in Borno

Read the powerful story of how Seaman Amaseimogha Paul, (whose burial I posted here) a naval officer who left Bayelsa to Borno state to help fight Boko Haram ensured he died alone after stepping on a landmine and then telling his colleagues to stay far away from the area while he tried to detonate the explosive. His brave story was shared by his colleague, Okunima Patrick. Read it after the cut...

Wow! I just received a call frm Etisalat wishing me happy birthday in adv and telling me d package they hav for me just for my birthday (Sunday, 12th July) - free airtime to call any Etisalat line, and free SMS to last for good 7days.

Am so proud, and happy. They made my day, and thank God I switched away frm dat go slow netwrk of MTN to efficient network of Etisalat.

Thumbs up, and more power to their elbows. God bless them abundantly for making me feel so important.

Etisalat is d best network in Nigeria!

Such act of bravery are very rare in this part of the world.I wonder how long he kept his leg on the mine before deciding to take it of.I wonder what was going through his mind just before he lifted his leg.We may never know. But I pray those he left behind will be made to know that their brother is indeed the true definition of a Nigerian hero.

IF U ARE ASK TO DIE FOR THE SIN OF THE WORLD U WOULD SAY NO BUT I TELL U THAT IS THE BEST AND U COULD BE GRANTED ETERNAL LIFE. WELL, IF U ARE A SINNER AND U DECIDES TO SACRIFICE YOUR LIFE TO THEM U HAVE MADE A VERY BIG MISTAKE IN LIFE.

WELL I SYMPATHIZE WITH THE FAMILY. RIP
