Photos: Ambode visits Apapa-Oshodi traffic gridlock, threatens to sanction tanker drivers

Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode paid a visit to Apapa-Oshodi expressway yesterday June 25th to have a first hand experience of the traffic gridlock caused by petroleum tanker drivers who park their tanks on the expressway while going to collect fuel at the Apapa Petroleum depot.

Governor Ambode threatened to sanction erring tanker drivers who park indiscriminately on bridges and roads in Apapa. He said a special task-force team will be set up soon that will ensure free flow of traffic in the area. More photos after the cut...

I don't miss working in Apapa. It's not even 9 to 5 in Apapa it's 5 to 9. Cos you're trying to beat traffic so you leave home early and try to leave work late and if you're lucky you get home b4 11pm just in time to rush your dinner so u can save 3-4 hours of sleep. Then do it all over again all for a basic salary job. The level of suffering in this country is beyond shocking.

for the people saying he looks clueless. i suggest you take a drive there like civilians do everyday. by the time you go there and see the mayhem and confusion there.

you would def look clueless also. This is a daunting task and it wont be easy but at least he is doing something for a start.
