what about car duties? is there any review on car importation duty through Lagos port or Cotonou?
Nice one.
Ok good nd noted
Thank you Jesus!!!
Please importation of poultry products should remain banned for life!
But Why?
How do we save our local textile Industry?
Our textile industry sure can not fairly compete with the foreign ones who have a head start on our local ones, and are also enjoying several unfair advantages like tax holidays, First class support infrastructure, and government support and patronage.
Long way to industrialization....
Nice one.

Da fuck with all these Policy somersault?
Thought the essence of the ban was 2 stimulate Local production.
Sick Country.
@ least Ankara go cheap small, Aso Ebi will now go for low prices
Ws d purpose of the ban not to encourage production of domestic textiles? Well I assume he knows wt he's doing.
Na today?
Na today?
Hmmm. I wonder how this helps to encourage and improve our economy
Good..👍. They should lift ban on importation of Tokunbo cars too...
How abt weed?????
Gud
Good news but how will Nigerian textile industry be resuscitated with this development? Less gvmnt make the duty very high n put our own textile industry at work again to engage our vibrant youths to be productive n also to create employment. I know my PMB has good plans for us.
One politician has started making textiles and now they want us to patronise them! SMH
Waiting for the day that we become self sustaining.
Abeg ooo let them review the import duty on vehicles too... That 70% duty is too much abeg..
It's a new government the wanna import new furniture and textiles to their houses, let them import finish they will still ban it again. #iranu #abasha
Why did dey lift d ban...mtchew....overdo alert
Too bad for our economy nd inspiring furniture makers
Are you serious? Should we rejoice or weep? I know some people will shout 'sai buhari'
Now this in not change! The local industry will suffer adversely
Hmmm guess dts another avenue to make money. The choice is urs.. you either buy home made materials or foreign made...
na wa oh! so what happen to the Kaduna Textile industry Gov. Elrufai is trying to revive at Kaduna? there will definitely be no room for it to survive....
is this how you want to encourage the local producers and small scale industries?
This change.... am still looking at it.
MORE JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE THAT LOVE BUYING AND SELLING
MORE JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE THAT LOVE BUYING AND SELLING
THANK YOU MR PRESIDENT FOR CREATING JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR TRADERS
I just pray this ur so called president and his funny archaic decisions will not lead our country to doom , at first it was the road block now u lifting ban on some commodities that can generate internal revenue, and create jobs, does he know how many job is being created by the manufactures of this commodities in this country.... what i expected was for him to set up bodies to regulate and control made in Nigeria goods especially furnitures, come to think of it ,Nigeria has good wood to produce furnitures yet we keep enriching other nations and stagnating our visions at all times due to some lame policies
Well i pray he doesn't disappoint his supporters cos the synopsis for me is mediocrity
You are dumb oh chai! How does removing ban on imported goods help made in Nigerian products. Go back to school aboki you too stupid
Linda you need to help youths. Maybe do a blog every week on things these people should know. All of you saying this is good news, how will this help our textile industry to flourish? At least we were now wearing made in Nigeria products.
35% duty who will pay that
This is a very wrong policy decision. It signals that this government hardly cares about the survival of indigenous textile and furniture factories many of which have been closed down due to the flooding of the Nigerian market with imported textile products. The huge number of unemployed Nigerians will gradually reduce if the government formulates policies that encourage local production of goods rather than importation. It is also quite curious and strange that of the numerous problems bedeviling this country, this is what the government considers to be important.
why this policy somersault
Thanks sai Buhari, God bless you
Please which local textile are you referring to? The companies run by Indians and Chinese that enslave your brothers and sisters printing Egba ntoline? God punish poverty
Let the business minded put on their thinking caps and please MrVP we are still holding you to your election promise of brining car importation tariffs down please.101% on cars clearance is fraudulent. Thank you Mr VP of federal republic of Nigeria.
Even before he lifted ban from textile materials, Nigeria mkt has always been flooded with textile from China. Most ankara u wear are from China. The custom officers were just making life difficult for traders.Ankara will now be more expensive cos of the duty. For the textile, it is a yes yes. For the furniture is a no no.
Very nice design of your furniture
This is the best reference sources that I was looking for
I hope to get a lot of new ideas from you
Thank you Furniture Jepara
