Nigeria's Health Minister Prof. Chukwu announced yesterday that there's only one confirmed case of Ebola in Nigeria now...that everyone else has been certified clean; which begs the question, what happened to the N1.9billion released by Pres. Jonathan for the management of Ebola in Nigeria?
Looks like the money will now be used to buy cars and other things. Naija sha! Lol. Continue, it gets more interesting...
During his press conference yesterday, Prof. Chukwu, denied the money was for the
management of the virus, saying it was for the ministry of health and will be used to buy cars and other things
"The N1.9billion approved by the president was for the federal ministry of health. It is not for Ebola fund. It will be used to procure more vehicles for working which have been ordered. It would be used to procure more drugs that have been ordered... and other items.
"In the case of Lagos state, after the president met commissioners of health, the president then asked the minister of health to discuss with the technical people and money has been approved for Lagos state," the minister said.
Well, that's totally contrary to the announcement Presidential spokesperson Reuben Abati made on August 8th
"President Jonathan also approved a Special Intervention Plan and the immediate release of N1. 9 billion for its implementation, to further strengthen on-going steps to contain the virus such as the establishment of additional isolation centres, case management, contact tracing, deployment of additional personnel, screening at borders, and the procurement of required items and facilities."

Lol
My taught exactly! What will happen to the money, the government should state what it will be used for in white and black.
And Linda dear, it was more than #1.9b, another #200m was added to support Lagos, making it a total of #2.1b including all the other millions that was donated by individual, co-operate organisations and companies

Hahahaha..its true oh.. Anybody who tries to pocket ebola money is most likely to die a painful death..Quite funny,sha..
That's why the LASG quickly disassociated themselves from the money.
The governor of Lagos State said they are managing what they have from tax payers and do not yet need the FG intervention.cos before we know it now,the FG will claim that they gave the money to Lagos state.
I also recall reading somewhere that Prof onyebuchi (our minister for health) was sacked as commissioner for embezzlement.but trust our sss and the FG to employ vagabonds and thieves.
I knew they'd divert it....they can do anytin to anybody's detriment
Mr Abati won't respond now o.if its to show us Mr president drinking tea and watching tv,he'll announce asap.
The money is for pdp 2015 campaign. Fogerrit
Which money will they ever give how it was spent
Reuben Abati,answer please
Meanwhile,we shouldn't forget the millions donated by dangote and Tony elumelu.
Freaking thieves. God will deal with all of them accordingly
Please this is when we need the media houses, bloggers, journalists etc to step up to their motto.innocent lives were lost cos of the unproactive nature of our government
PLEASE Don't ALLOW THIS ISSUE DIE DOWN.THE MINISTER OF HEALTH MUST EXPLAIN THE ALMOST TWO BILLION NAIRA ISSUE TO US.he must reconcile his statement with that of the presidential town crier-Abati.

MICKY: PDP share the money, mtchewww, tired of these leaders so called
Why do we Nigerians simply love finding faults with the government. I think the first thing to do is appreciate the Jonathan administration for the successful containment of the disease in the country. Did any of us know Ebola was manageable without the oyibo man Zmapp and the "pesticide". Lets praise and encourage them first before probing. #LearnToAppreciate
Let it be used to assist other west African countries having the Ebola epidermic problem
#madeofblack relax these guys would still chop the money whether you rant or not... Nija is lawless only people that steal 1million are caught by EFCC abi you never notice?Make una no dey deceive unaself ooo trying to pull them down via social media no dey work again dem done get thick skin.... in reference to Ebola being 1 case, i do not believe that shit HO ha..... tell that to the crayfish cluttered beneath the ocean.
She is right, I think the money should be shared among d people who took care of the patient with Ebola. Truth be told the minster tried. Rozay talking
When we say Jonathan's government is a government of corruption and useless people. They will say we hate him
Imagine, doctors have been on strike for weeks and they refused to listen to any of their demands. They succeeded in turning the masses against doctors. Now they want to spend 1.9 billion on cars and luxury?
They will all indeed die painful deaths. Amen
Cars?This is absurd
Instead of procuring equipments for easy containment at various airports and border, states and local government or drugs for curing this disease.
LMAO Nigeria as a whole na comedy. Approved for Lagos instead of speedy delivery of the cash to the state, when such a deadly virus hit it. I am not a bit surprised, even glad they claim it will even be used for something at all. N some silly pple will be wondering why USA didnt give us their hard earned Zmapp
I believe that having less than two cases of Ebola means that the allotted money is actually working! No shit!
Na today???All the money EFCC has recover in the past they cant give the record talkless of ebola
Cars ordered already.. wow so fast.. Naij no dey carry last lol
And other things like what?? ... When money talks, bullshit works ni ...

The will judge all .Ebola making some thieves millionaire. chi nwe ikpe
person wey buy car with #Ebola moni is simply riding in Ebola. hope you knw what it means!!.
Preach on Sis.
The 1.9 Billion was not received for the special intervention program but it was released to implement the program. So in all, ebola intervention got 200 million while the implementation got 1.9 billion.
Finanly Jay z and Beyonce can't just hide it any more. Read the story here. http://monthlyyouth.com/?ref=403919
Ahahahahahaha!!! Naija!! Freedom of speech is goodd shaaa!!!
Those are pertinent questions.
It is a shame that people will seek to benefit from calamities such as the Ebola epidemic.
My the blood of the dead be upon anyone (and their families) who benefits unduly from this calamity.
Wicked evil men and women we call the Nigerian government. Everything is about ends. They don't care how they get it as long as they do. Can you believe the disgusting nerve of this man to confirm the actual use of the money?
This is why I laugh at people who insult the UK. A country where government officers are sacked over the misappropriation of £2.50(N675).
The Ebola fund you asking for has been used for private Jet maintenance please try again later...Ha! Ha! Ha! lol
Yea soooo correct. They better return that money into the federal account.Anyone that steals from that money would die a miserable death.
Linda this is not a 'lol' matter pls. It's a terrible development. Even with this terrible case of a DEADLY VIRUS, corruption comes out to play.
US, Canada, Japan all created treatment when it's Africans dying, yet money that could be used to invent treatment is to be spent on CARS, meanwhile nurses and doctors are dying and infected people are left in horrible conditions to die.
There is no fear of God in Nigeria I swear. Criminals from top to bottom. Disgusting.
Kimmy*****
we deserve the leaders that we have because during election, many of us will not come out to vote.
Little wonder the grin on the minister's face has been getting wider by the day! Hopefully along with the intervention fund they'll also keep a kingly portion of the virus for later individual use. If the infection of a handful of "ordinary" people could attract a whopping N1.9b presidential windfall imagine what can happen if one or more ogas at the top gets it? Go Minister, you can do it!
naija sha, i hope we get things right soon
If they use the money to buy cars and not use it to curb this ebola ish, they will all die with those cars! This is no curse but a fact. Those cars will bring untold sorrows to them all. Money has entered hands, now its only one patient that has ebola in this country. Adonbilivit!
They should speak now, but if they shot their mouth and not use the money for the course it is meant for, may the spirits of those that died of Ebola chase them till they repent that is if they have the chance to repent.
If any of you steal from that money you will catch Ebola or any other incurable disease. You and those you spend the money with will NEVER know peace in Jesus name Amen!
What a terrible country!!!
Why most of us are here crying when most of us here have already started campaigning for them (corrupt politicians) against 2015 election. Sorry for us oooo.
Why running in conclusions? If ur father is one. of the ministers bet u won't even post this .

The federal govt hospitals are in total rot with obsolete or non functioning new equipments yet our honorable minister is busy buying cars. diaris God oh. kontinue! God is watching.
Onyebuchi Chukwu bad news since like forever...... fraudster, previously sacked by EBSUTH, now wrongly advicing d president to cancel residency programme...... iis he jazzing everyone that they can't see his downward spiral moves...... sack him already!
Doctors went on strike in vain, health minister didn't even provide better conditions for them or meet their demans.... Gej u need to stop drinking ogogoro every night oh
Linda, ass licker post my comment
is it not a shame our medical personell died from ebola and what interest this useless minster of health is to buy cars.
i hope ebola contacts him and anyone else who dare use those cars so as to taste what those who died went through wicked set of individuals
They will soon proclaim that the tweet is politically motivated and coming from the APC.
My bro, they will vote for oga jona.Pple shld let our leaders know that they can be vote out.Let vote jona out.
How pesin go pocket money for such course. Nawa o!
Ebola is still alive and well in Liberia, Sierria Leone, Guinea, DRC . . all that's required is for another Mr. Sawyer to cross porous bothers. Will the cars save us? This is Nigeria's opportunity to show leadership in the sub-region by disbursing the money as alloted, even if we never see Ebola again within our borders. We don't have to run to oyinbo for everything, do we? All of us who have access to social media, this is the time to go on Twitter and Facebook and demand Prof Chukwu should retrace his steps. And I prefer not to hear from the naysayers who let precious experience disarm them and shout " notin will happen." We must try, try, try and try again. Let it not be on record that we just sat down and did nothing.
