Prosecutors said Popoola met his victim while working as an agency-employed bouncer outside Bar So in Northampton town centre. He took her out for drinks then managed to convince the woman to take him back to her home. It was in her home that he attacked her.
Popoola, 34, was jailed for seven years at a court in Northampton on October 18. He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life. The court told him he would be automatically deported back to Nigeria on his release from prison.

Hello Guys, dont let is be quick to judge, i am currently in UK and i spoke with a friend to the jailed Nigerian even before the verdict was given. In as much as i wont believe all i was told 100% i think you should actually be carefully with crucifying this guy. From what i was told the woman/victim was under the influence of alcohol but drove the guy to her house in her own car and dropped him off the following morning with her own car. but there was a bit of disagreement a couple of weeks later when the guy refused to fulfill his own part of the deal cash in exchange for sex. he promised to settle the woman by month end but refused to apparently using Naija/lagos sense, which backfired when the woman called the police saying the guy took advantage of her under the influence of alcohol. This guy needs a good lawyer that will insist that CCTV footage of his claim be verified. maybe he will be lucky with just a deportation instead of service jail term and becoming an ax convict. my humble opinion
