The Oyo state government is planning to demolish the multi million naira music house - The Yinka Ayefele Music House, belonging to Tungba music creator, Yinka Ayefele, which is situated along Falana Rd in Ibadan .
The state government said last week that the building is being considered for demolition because its on the right-of-way for the planned 8-lane road expansion in Ibadan.
Reacting publicly for the first time since he got the news, Ayefele told Gbenga Shaba of Yes! Magazine that the planned demolition is a test of his faith.
"I know it's a test of my faith and it will soon pass. I observed the stipulated distance range for the building, but no one knew that the area would soon attract an 8-lane way, which will mean more lands have to give way for the expansion. I know I'm not the only one this will affect. there are hundreds of good people of Oyo state who derive their daily meals from different activities that are carried out in the building. I know the governor of Oyo state will now allow injustice to be carried out. I know he has a good heart and if the house is demolished, I hope I will be duely compensated.

Have U̶̲̥̅̊ visited http://naijamustchange.blogspot.com 2day?
Watz wit you? I think his comment is not only reasonable but also very matured. Why don't you want govt to compensate him? The governors of Lagos and Oyo must not act the same way.go rest Jor
Yinka Ayefele should tell us if the house has a C of O. No qualified surveyor should have bothered with a land on the right of way.
This is a lesson for every land buyer. Compensation? I don't think so? On the right of way? What did Ayefele mean? It is so sad!
@ anon 5:04 so not only me noticed that aobatele is no more commenting on this blog. Miss his/her comment not someone like bonario abi wetin be ihm name sef.

Matured statement....the govt will compensate him.
Hmm is he complaining? Demolishing is a big time promo in nigeria. Pls send my congratulations to him
Maybe if he has his C of O they may compesate him, you know our politicians can be funny at times.
I believe he would be compensated, it might hurt but it is well.
@ Hunter topsy maybe u should ask U̶̲̥̅̊я dad how he'll feel if a house he built with his hard earned money is about to βε̲̣ demolished..that's if he has built one tho...*eyes rolling*

Only u'll notice cos u're d aobatele himself, how depressed're u to find out no one but u noticed ur absence from lib...depressed enough to top yourself?
@ALLYBERRY u talks lik sombody dat feds wit her anus....
For people that are familiar with Ibadan, you will know the building is just by the road, and the road leading to challenge is causing alot of traffic now that a good government should think of expansion. Don't criticize what you don't know, i have a land too and i did land search because government can come and say we need to expand. Its just a pity he spent so much on the building. Its not a test of faith but carelessness on land buyers path. We don't project in to the future in Nigeria, because a baby will know that the road will be expanded in nearest future. Sorry about it Tungba father, i hope there are necessary papers on it. if not you won't be compensated. And if there is an existing gazette on it that means nothing for you. Too bad!
For even though one of the government's responsibilities is to ensure that all its subjects' rights are extolled, if the government tramples on the rights of its subjects then where lies the legitimacy of that government.
I read an article recently on the planned expansion of the Anfield stadium. It was announced publicly that in order to carry out the project some buildings around would be destroyed, but they had factored in the purchasing of the properties in the cost of their project.
I believe the inclusion of Ayefele in this saga is God's way of making this case high profile enough for us to reconsider the way government carries out its socially benefitting projects.
Now if the government would build the roads, the fair and just thing to do is to purchase the properties at market price from the owners (completed, uncompleted or fallow land). They have purchased and developed these areas and anyhow you look at it, their presence has positively affected the economic value of that area which probably influenced the need of the state of the art road.
Government must be fair, Ayefele fight your case to the fullest. People who lost their properties to the LCC road have still not been compensated, but I believe your case would be different.
@ hunter topsy, i'm sure you're a school drop out but in case you're not u might wanna consider going back to school to improve on your spelling and diction. DUMBASS
