Here's what they wrote about me...
When Linda Ikeji began her self-titled blog back in 2006 a lot of people derided her efforts, saying it was merely a flash in the pan, bound to lead nowhere, with some even going as far as stating she ought to stick to her modeling career. Of particular note was a story done in National Encomium by popular gossip hag, Stella Dimoko Korkus, in which she all but dismissed any chance of Linda’s newest venture having any success.
5 years down the line not only has Linda proven her critics wrong, but her blog has emerged as what is unarguably the most popular, visible and commercially viable entertainment property in Nigeria’s corner of the Internet.Wow! Please continue reading...
Whether it was something as serious as the Abia gang rape story which she brought to the attention of not only the government and people of Nigeria, but also international media, including BBC, CNN and Al-Jazeera among others, something as irreverent as the sham marriage between Mercy Johnson and her Prince of dubious mien, or something as deeply personal as her various pronouncements on her sex life (or lack thereof), Nigerians and friends of Nigeria could trust her blog to raise awareness and shape public perception of the subject at hand in a major way.
In our case for example, we can’t even begin to count the number of times we’ve run across the office proclaiming ’did you see what she just posted’, and we know we are not alone in this regard. Nor can we begin to count the number of times we’ve seen and continue to see stories that she brought to light become the fodder for discussion across various internet fora, with debates raging for days on end.
Ultimately, for being a private citizen who has used the power of the keyboard to best shape Nigeria’s polity in 2011, 1976AD proudly declares Linda Ikeji the 2011 person of the year.

@anonymous 3:56...
I could care less about 1976ad or whatnot, but because you've never heard of it does not mean it's not popular. Heck, they must be doing something right, their youtube channel alone has:
954
subscribers
and
315,300
video views
Might not be the biggest # in the world, but that's hardly a sign of lack of popularity.
Either way, The story appeared on 1976ad, it did not appear on Linda Ikeji's blog, and what she chose to do with it is entirely up to her.
But I will say this, if someone made me their person of the year, and put it out in public for all to see, I too would link to it, and I don't even have a blog lol
But then again, I've never been any public organization's person of the year, have you?
My first comment ever on your blog and its a new year...yeah!!! Congrats dear and keep up the good work. God bless our endeavors.
Hey Linda congrts. sometimes i have beef with you for censoring your blog but trust me i know its for good. don't mind those saying you shouldn't censor. trust me, it shows class. i was just on ladun's blog and the way peoplke are trading curses on that blog makes me see why that blog is a failure. you report real gist and not just focused on bashing people and publishing lies to get traffic. pls don't trash this blog by not censoring cos then it becomes a site people use to attack each other. its ur blog and i like what u ve done so far. again, sometimes you piss me off but its all good. you deserve it. the only reason why the average post on Laduns blog generate 17-20 comments is because is like 3 people going back and forth. your own traffic is more divere with more unique posters as opposed to reading the same redunant bashing
Congrats Linda
Congrats! If only u'll undo this thing that makes me visit ur blog almost every hour. Until then, keep keeping it real.
Congratulations!!!!

Congrats Linda,
I am a self -confessed cynic and critic and I am also extremely negative. How I got hooked onto ur blog I don't know! Been following u for abt 3 months now, love ur honesty, ability to laugh at urself, for posting impolite comments abt u, And making no pretence abt loving gossip or sh!t-stirring!! Well done. You make my day, sounds patronising but so true!
Congratulations, Boo!! Happy New Year!!! May God bless all your endeavors!!
Congratulations Linda, the sky is just the beginning for you. Keep on impacting generations.
Congrats linda.. Cp africa is even conducting a popularity contest between you and bella naija.. Guess it's time to take it to the next level. Start rewarding people that post here by getting hotels, resorts, restaurant, airlines and gsm companies to donate their products. Can conduct raffle draws to determine winners of weekend stays at hotels, return air tickets and dinner for two at their various locations..
You dont deserve it. Pure negativity might bring in the money and fame, but karma is real. Enjoy your censoring of REAL COMMENTS razzo...dont give a toss if you post.
Congrats Linda... you sure deserve it...
