Lagos State Speaker Arrested by EFCC over N7billion fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today arrested Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, to verify allegations of fraud in the region of N7billion. According to a most reliable source at the Commission, it is unlikely that Ikuforiji, who is presently being grilled, will be released anytime today; and he will, by extension, spend the rest of the weekend in detention.

Kick Against Corruption, a civil rights group, had, in May, sent petitioned EFCC, asking it to prosecute the Speaker for mismanagement of N7b meant for running the Lagos State House of Assembly.

How a speaker can have access to N7billion astounds me...

yet they (our leaders) complain there is insuficient fund. Imagine common speaker with such amount. If they decide to give every nigerian N1 million naira each from that money, i bet they will still have a lot to looth. Well, chop alone, dance to the tune alone.yet they (our leaders) complain there is insuficient fund. Imagine common speaker with such amount. The audacity this man has to brazenly siphon that kind of money. This is totally incomprehensible. What did you say Philameh? Serious trouble does not begin to describe the state of things in Nigeria. I must say where are all the comments? If this piece was about Whiz Kid or some other tweetin' Nigerian celeb there would be at least 40 comments on the first day of posting? Linda, or any one else out there isnt this baffling? No one cares, why won't cases like this occur? People are occupied with crap! Junk! I pray for my country and it's people. We will have only ourselves to blame!

1976ad; is Tinubu next? Who will bell the cat?

The way they call billions in Nigeria is just like it's thousands of naira!

No wonder a lot of people want to go into politics because there's so much money to steal with impunity.

It says to verify allegations, you dimwits... You just go ahead and start judging.... Plus Linda stop posting bogus news, verify before putting up...He was not arrested. You hear things and put up without verifying...
