Photos: Another suspected criminal escape death in a 4th mob justice in Calabar

Jungle justice in Calabar, Cross River State capital is on the rise as barely days after three suspected criminals were burnt to death at Atimbo, Akai Effa, all in Calabar Municipality, another one was rescued by the police.

The current one which is the fourth, happened in the early hours of Friday , June 23, at New Secretariat along Murtala Mohammed highway.

The suspect who is believed to be in his thirties had his body slashed with matchete, legs and hands bound with ropes and dragged to Murtala Mohammed Highway.

He was about to be set ablaze when a team of policemen arrived and took him to the General Hospital Calabar for treatment. According to Calabar Reporters, someone must have alerted the police to come to his rescue.

Mtshew....Nigerians and misdirected frustration....next time when you see one of those rich thieves that have stolen billions of public funds,pray ye,also stone,kick and box them to an inch of their lives like this!! But nooooo....na to greet them "Well done Sir" and clear the road for their siren-blaring bullet-proof cars bought with una money!! Una never hala!!

Na waoh! This is bad. As much as stealing is a crime, jungle justice is certainly not the best way to handle it. It's totally wrong.

The scary thing about this Jungle Justice act in calabr is that itd now becoming a normal thing as people(children) would stand so close to the burning corps; inhailing smokes from the burning corps as they stire and watch...Thiefs who must have seen these burnt alive for purpose of stealing should please seek God forgivess and repent. It is very dehumanizing and so humiliating to be burnt alive by a mob. I have seen several acts of this such carried out in the metropoly and its just too BAD. Please be guided
