"How can a National leader address Nigerians in a sectional language?" - Reno Omokri on Pres Buhari's audio message to Nigerians

Reno Omokri reacts to President Buhari's Sallah message which was broadcasted in Hausa.
In the audio message, President Buhari spoke in Hausa throughout the recording. Former presidential media aide, Reno Omokri, says this is unacceptable, adding that a National leader cannot address his people in a sectional language. He wrote:

"In a country whose official language is English, President Muhammadu Buhari broadcasts his Sallah message in Hausa! Would Trump (whose origin is German) address America in German? So what about all those Nigerians who can't speak Hausa? Ideally, the President should have spoken in English first, then if he feels like it, he may also speak in Hausa.
The way he has now spoken only in Hausa makes it seem as if he is only concerned with those who gave him 97% of the votes while those who have him 5% can take a hike! How would the rest of the country have felt if President Olusegun Obasanjo had released a Christmas broadcast to Nigerians in Yoruba of if President Goodluck Jonathan has done so in Ogbia? How can a NATIONAL leader address Nigerians in a SECTIONAL language? Nigeria has never had a leader as divisive as Buhari! There is no difference between President Buhari and Nnamdi Kanu. President Buhari is the President of all Nigeria. He is not the President of only those who can speak Hausa! This is an outrage! President Yar'adua also spoke to the BBC News by phone. He is Fulani, like President Buhari. Yet he spoke in English because he was President of all of us!

Reno, part of being human is the the inherent gift of compassion. Voice in that video is clearly that of a man in the throes of anticipated death. For a man who has always spoken English with an effort, speaking it in his present condition May be extremely laborious. He deserves understanding and compassionate accommodation at this time

Actually, there's a big difference between Nnamdi Kanu and Buhari...I don't see the similarities.Buhari is the absentee president of a multilingual country that chose to address the country in his own language while leaving the rest of the country in the dark. Kanu on the other hand is an individual that's championing the liberation of his people from a failed and oppressive colonial mistake. How Omokri could draw parallels between the two is beyond me.

The man is sick, nd has forgotten how to speak english

This is one of the reasons why we don't suppose to be together.

This is totally unacceptable and Nigeria needs to divide now

Foolish supporters would not see anything wrong in this. If it was a President from another tribe, all hell would let loose.

It's not president Buhari voice on the audio message. It was definitely organized by those despiradors that want to take over power.

Reno ,I commend your observations, but don't agree with the 97percent vote by the North because all tribes indeed voted for him thinking we have a ""messiah Being the only alternative. I am igbo yet I voted him!.it is only God that will deliver us from buhari and his allies.linda post my write up.

Omokri and his garbage as usual. I am Igbo, I don't care wether he speaks Hausa or English or spanish. That's Reno's headache. I am Biafran, I guess he's speaking to Nigerians and not me.

Anonymous said...

Can Reno write his garbage without insulting Igbo bikonu? Did Buhari speak Igbo? Why involve us in your Nigerian affairs? Please Reno face Buhari and your likes and stop involving Kanu in this frivolity, we ain't playing.

I am not bothered about what language Buhari spoke, but Reno should leave Nnamdi Kanu and ndigbo out of this!!!
It's getting too much.

I rep Kanu, I rep Biafra.
Reno is a hater

Buhari can use Panya language to address you guys, that's your cup of kunu. Mr. Reno don't involve Kanu, he is fighting for his people. You Reno can as well start fighting for the well being of the south/South because they are equally marginalized and cheated. Rather than envious of Kanu and his followership. Mtschewww.

Maybe he has forgotten how to speak english. I pray that he realises that you must not be a president to be a great leader it's not by force. With all those vulture cabal roaming around him, they will do everything possible to remain in power. But they just forgot there's Tomorrow. God help us.
