Here's the full story of the lady an Uber Driver allegedly attempted to forcefully have sexual relations with her

A woman named Ann on Thursday put an Uber Driver on blast after he attempted to forcefully have sexual relations with her when she entered his taxi. (Read here) She has narrated the full details of her shocking experience as another lady confirmed the randy behaviour of the said driver. She wrote;

"Hi my name is jossyann, a dance artist and a student of university of Lagos. I have been using uber for 2years now and I have never had such a devastating experience before. My initial story was a summary, here is the full version. On the 28 of June 2017, I started a trip with Mr Oluwatobi (an uber driver) at 7:57pm at Isolo; my initial destination was Gbagada, but I changed my trip to Omole phase 1 which was ok by the driver. My battery was low so I sat in front to charge my phone. I noticed the driver was chatty and I stopped responding when he got personal. At some point I noticed he was passing through dark and unfamiliar streets and I asked where we were and he said Bariga. I got worried and asked him why, he said he wanted to buy me food because he liked me. I declined and asked him to either drop me at my destination or I come down. He continued driving, he then said he was tipsy and horny that I should cooperate. I started making calls to friends to come to my aid because I was confused and afraid. He drove off through Yaba to different locations I was not familiar with (as shown on the map). He persisted that he won't let me go until he had his way. I called my boss (director) to speak to him on speaker phone; he did and he advised him to take me to my destination in order to avoid problems; this infuriated the driver. I threatened to call the police, after which he started driving fast and dangerously, at this point I was afraid for my life. He was driving around town totally off my route still trying to convince me to oblige. At some point in Ikeja he refused to stop at a police check at this point I started crying, praying, making calls and my boss called again and this time he was able to convince him to do the right thing or else he will be prosecuted. Thankfully this time he took me to my destination. A journey of 30mins became the scariest 3hours of my life. I am grateful to God that I came out unharmed.

1: On that night I was wearing a big shirt, jeans face cap and snickers ( the costumes I wear in my dance videos are for studio work only and that's not how I dress in public).

2: I have been dancing since age 5 and have worked with many reputable brands and , so the purpose of this write up is not to seek attention but for uber to call the driver to order and for others to learn from it. I am also aware of the legal implications of peddling false accusations; so I challenge the individual to refute my claims.

3: At different stages in my ordeal, I tried to figure a way out but wasn't sure of his mental state and if any aggressive attempt to exit the vehicle might complicate the situation, for example his refusal to stop at the police check or to talk to anyone when he claimed he was lost.

4: Although, there was no physical assault on me, I was compelled to stay in the vehicle against my will for 3 hours, with constant persuasions and threats to have "FUN" with him. I was mentally tortured, verbally abused and I believe if not for God's grace, the barrage of calls and my persistent boss who spoke to him severally, the story might have turned out differently.

My dear my last experience with an Uber driver was equally unpleasant although different from yours in the sense that the driver did not make sexual advances at me but he threatened me pointing me to his position and rank as an officer of the Nigerian Army when l told him he was being rude to me. I think we are getting to a point where legal actions may be considered against Uber and it's drivers if these trends persist. I don't think you have any reason to cook up this sort of story.

Why don't u go to police.Part of your evidence are phone calls, ur boss's intervention, other people coming forward etc. U have a case it's just that there's no law or its enforcement in our country. Good luck.

Someone will just open his shitty mouth to say shitty stuffs. Go to school u won't listen... Read your books... You wont agree. Now you are asking where she was going by 11pm when it was stated in the story that trip was started at about 7:57pm and it lasted 3hrs instead of 30 minutes. Olodo rabata! @jossyann sorry about the whole wahala and thank you for sharing the experience. Pls report to the police, that man shouldn't scotfree.

All this people they are just a liar,it's possible the drivers woo them.but all this story they are sharing was a fake cos if it's true why don't they go-to uber office to report.how many complaints had they made to the authority ehhh

It's obvious you do not understand that an abuse is an abuse, verbal or physical. Hope no female in your lineage ever gets to experience such... or maybe it's normal to you to have trash said to the ladies around you. Arrest him on site? Cos you have 911 abi or something like you mean beat him up abi. ...

While i agree with you on her contacting Uber, i wouldn't be quick to call her a liar as neither you nor I have any proof.... why not treat each case on its merits rather than have a loopsided view of everything. Cos she is a dancer you assume she wants cheap publicity... isn't that "yeye"

Nice try. Try again. Why didn't you arrest him when he eventually took you to your destination. Your boss would have make that arrangement before he gets there. Am glad you are safe but I think there is somethings you are not telling us.

@jossyann thanks for bringing this to the public domain. I would advise you report the driver's conduct via your trip on the app. That would save some other person this harassment. Obviously Uber can not ascertain the mental fitness of its drivers but this should compel it to have more stringent measures ( as there have been a drop in their standards when compared with other nations they are operating in)
Also we should stop trying to hush up people particularly the victims !!! She shared her experience, you either learn from it or leave it.
What's with all the name calling?

Victor see your life ? Ode!!! I'm sure you're a Uber driver too or Tobi's brother

It's quite unfortunate what people particularly women go through especially in a developing country like Nigeria.
Is there any woman who would love to be stigmatized and known as that lady who was raped or sexually assaulted? It's painful when events happen like this. This is part of the reason a lot of sexually abused people have to bear what they go through alone than come forward.
I don't know sha, but just casting stones on someone you don't know ain't right. Besides what will she gain?

Nnehhhhhhh said...

Are you stupid or insensitive? A girl was mentally and psychologically abused and you are here asking for capital.!!!!! U need wisdom...

Rita no bi only uber driver I be na private jet driver.... nonsense sombori

Thank you for this write up. I don't understand the mentality of our people. Why all the name calling? This is exactly why rape victims chose to be silent in order not to be stigmatized.

All I can say is many are mad, few are roaming.

Wat made u think they haven't reported asshole? Uber I am so sorry to say has no hold over their drivers. I got tired of reporting and deleted their app asap. If I no get strength to driver, I enter any taxi I saw. Their national anthem is calling women ashawo. Untrained drivers

....and finally he took you to your destination'?. I have issues with that part of the story.were there not people at your destination? even when you were felt physically tortured and .....assulted?.

Your failure to report to the police immediate makes your story unbelievable.I'm sorry!.
