Photos: Another Untethered container accident in Lagos..
Pictures from an accident in Anthony Oke, Lagos today involving a trailer and a car. The
government needs to act fast & handle the issue of
untethered containers on all roads. More photos after the cut...
This is so annoying that the authority cant do anything about this , even during the time of fashola ,why cant this drivers secure the container properly and also use newer trailer in carrying heavy goods like that ,this thing doesnt need science rockets to solve ,better still ban them from moving during d day time and make their movement restricted from 12-4am within the state.this doesnt happen here abroad abeg..... for heaven sake we are in 2015 not 1922,its time this companines start paying heavy fine. richlyblessed.
Abegi! Is it not Nigerians like you n I that own those vehicles? Even when Lagos put that restriction, did they obey them? If I hear. We don't love one another at all. Granted the govt must do more to ensure these things don't happen but they can only do so much if the Nigerians that make so much living from freight business refuse to adhere
The menace dis tanker/container drivers are causing is so so pathetic. .. government shud pls stop them from plying by the day to avoid more deaths....dis is just not gud. ..#notocontainer/tankersbyday#
I even saw one dat used a tiny chain 2 hold a container in plc yesterday, was so scared my d bus I was in passed beside it, may God continue 2 guide us
I witnessed and it was like a movie, the trailer was being towed by LASTMA officials when the hook holding the trailer to the towing vehicle went off, unfortunately the trailer lost it's brake and the driver of the Toyota car was directly behind the trailer, he tried to move away but other cars were already behind him until the trailer crushed the vehicle then the container went off. Am glad the driver made it out alive cos he took a very big risk, even when other drivers behind him had jumped out of their vehicles he was still trying to pull some rather foolish stunt. The LASTMA officials should be held responsible cos they failed to ensure that the trailer was well hooked to their towing vehicle. I also think it's high time articulated vehicles have their movt restricted to btw 12am & 4am, govt needs to do something fast.
