Remember the politician caught with PVCs in March? He got INEC Certificate of Return

Remember Dr Chukwuemeka Ujam, former Commissioner for Land in Enugu State who contested for the Nkanu East/West House of Reps seat and was allegedly caught with 4000 PVCs in Enugu and was paraded by the military? (read here.) Well, INEC has given him his certificate of return. Lol. Congrats to him

I am not surprise. Nigeria is country of 'anything goes'. A country where people live without shame. Living without shame is dangerous.

These things only happen in Nigeria..a lot of people are really above the law here.only in Nigeria ,only in Nigeria.

Congrats to him.

Sometimes I wonder the kind of justice system we have in this country. A confirmed electoral offender is been declared winner of election instead of being arraigned for his offence while the same system sentenced a woman to 266 years imprisonment for stealing 8 million. It's like our Justice systen encourages mega crimes and discourages little crimes.

Hmmm na who dem catch b thief so apc didn't ring election any where? Pls we should nt b onesided

ok, this is the problem I have with govt and this time by that I mean INEC, when we see a guy sitting on the floor with soldiers standing all around him and PVCs all over the place with a report he was caught with it, dont INEC think the public deserve an explanation as to how same person won an election?

Anonymous said...

If you win election, INEC would give you certification. If there is a legal issue, it is the court that handles that. There is nothing wrong here please. INEC is not, police, court or principal. Things follow procedures.

Foolish country, we all know this election was rigged by both sides, the better rigger won.

There are serious allegation of electoral fraud; core evidence against this man. It would not require even a lawyer with no experience to take action and emerge victorious. That is why we are tasting for democracy and here is a good acid taste to hold onto democratic value. I am asking that some there or a group of concerned citizens to take legal action against this man; strip him of this position and disqualify him from running public office at least for the next 4 years. INEC is not well grounded for accountability, another learning curve. GMB and cohorts find means to empower INEC- what a shaaaaaaaaame.

Linda what do you mean by "Congrats to him".
Here is a man who committed an electoral offence but instead of being investigated and charged, he was instead presented with a certificate. This is not the type of change we are expecting.

Unknown said...

I love my country...The more you look....Now go figure

knowurway.com said...

What is it with INEC? This is a big shame to INEC, he need to be investigated in the court of law before he can be allowed to contest again as a candidate of any party.

APPLE said...

Hmmm..That is deep!

Unknown said...

Was he prosecuted? What did his opponents do to stop him from contesting? Sometimes our attitude of "see nothing, do nothing " must stop. He will get away with it, if his co contestants cannot raise their finger and be counted. No one will do if for them! Sorry o

Unknown said...

Worst is the one thaat happened in Owerri, where Rochas wrote his election results on Fake result sheets( jigawa, kano n Katsina result sheets) we r are here shouting Rochas we know. Some inec officials even opened up how his boys @ gun point gave them results sheets to change figures n we r here talking. Anytin goes in this country.

EMEKA UJAM WAS AN UPSTANDING INDIVIDUAL IN SECONDARY SCHOOL, EVERYONE'S ROLE MODEL AND A PREFECT. IT'S A SHAME WHAT MONSTERS NIGERIA TURNS GOOD PEOPLE INTO.

IN THE INTEREST OF EQUITABLE GOVERNMENT AND FAIRNESS HOWEVER, THIS MAN SHOULD BE DISQUALIFIED AND CHARGED ACCORDINGLY FOR HIS ELECTION CRIMES. CRIMINALS DO NOT MAKE GOOD LAWMAKERS.
