Your comment will be visible after approval
abeg who dey hammer dis chimamanda sef,d babe go swit ooh
Her hair is great. She's a true African queen unlike all you Negropeans that claim African but yet dispice everything that has to do with her. You even go as far as wearing Brazilian, Indian, Peruvian hair and so on - all in a bid to look like your slave masters or conform to their standard of beauty. Chimamanda is a woman that understand what it means to be African as well as take pride in our culture and heritage. So if you don't like her hair, it's a clear case you are still suffering from mental slavery.
Chim, my role model.

Chimamanda a complete woman of elegance, very unique, classy and intelligent. See how natural and good she looks with the epic hairs of the early 80s. My mum use to make them while I was a child. Linda you know am ur big fan but when it comes to chimamanda, you are on ur own. Just listening to her talk on tv gives me goose bums. If I marry her, will never let her do house chores for one day. She is in a class of her own.
She doesn't care!!!

Our mothers used to plait us like that when we were little. wow...childhood tinz
Now weaves heve taken over.
So here are still tpeople who know how to thread hair in this era of peruvian, brazilian etc hair? Interesting.

Be daring... give it a try, nah. *winks*
Chimamanda feminist toh gallant*lovestruck*you rock sweerie.

To those who swear by weaves and think natural is ugly:
Does this woman look ugly, even with that hairstyle? Inferiority complex!
Kai, Linda, all these natural hair advocates will now storm this blog and roast all weave wearers.
Awww! U r really making us proud. God bless u.
These guys should be role models to young people!! They keep repping our Naija for all the right reasons!!
HER HAIRSTYLE, ME LIKEY
Linda, our daughter,
This woman and her hair reminds me back in the days, when we were young, daddy with his afro and his flared trousers used to te me to the ball for a dance. hmmm. We used to plait hair like this or wear big big afro. I am looking at the pictures... how time flies.
The chidren are now grown and independent. Now we are proud grandparents.
I will show these old yellowish pictures and ask daddy to take me to dance, like back in the days when he was a young bubbling, handsome boy and me an innocent little girl who knew "nothing", who was her father's daughter.
God bless you Linda, for bringing such beautiful memories. Make i call your papa now, mummy must dance with her boo. Na so u call, am? boo?

CHIMAMANDA MY AFRICAN GODDESS

Chimanmanda your hair is truly African
AU
She is such a nuisance!! It is bad enough that her current novel is poorly done and only promoting hair & herself...sad
Beyond cocaine trafficking and 419, it is heart-warming to see something good coming out of Ibo land. Linda, if you like don't post this. It maters not.
Great lady. No be all these yeye Nollywood celebs.
With all due respect she looks like some farmer's daughter. I understand her natural hair life style but am sure she could have found a better hair style. She is supposed to inspire other naturalistas and aspiring naturalistas- but she is quite frankly off putting with this look.
U don't have sense. Must she carry brazillian hair before she looks pretty in ur eyes?? Isi aki like u.lol
I love this chic
I just love Chimamanda! Her writing style is fantastic and her new book Americanah is a must read for every 'non-American or non-British' black. She has genuine respect and love for her country and it shines through in her writing. Her hair is beautiful just like Africa. I'm Nigerian incase anyone is wondering!
Please re write in English!
Lol!! True
You guys should be truthful joor,Everybody likes her hair cos of her status and achievements.if it were tonto or toke una go begin talk spoil mtchewwww.
chimamanda is reppin Africa well, standing out for ur culture brings out the best and originality in you not all these expensive artificial hair we see always, they have become tiring and burdensome abeg
I appreciate her natural hair ways and I like girls with natural hair but did she have to do this hairstyle? It's whack!
Awww!!!! Nkemji hair, very soon babes will rock dis hair
Chimamanda's hair highlights the natural hair revolution that's been occuring among many black women. They're giving up the creamy crack, weaves and braids for afros, twists and whatnot on their natural hair. Dressing their hair with weaves and perms was causing receding hairlines, outright baldness and other irreversible damage. So they've reverted to keeping their hair in its natural state.
It is an inspiring story of success, Chimamanda!
All d guys commenting trash about ladies, PLZ SHUT UP.
If we begin 2 make Chimimanda's hairdo, na una go complain pass & find us less attractive.
and d person who said Chimimanda has neva won a weavon. DATZ A BIG LIE. U can browse tru d internet.
I admire her, no doubt. If datz what she feels comfortable in *fine*. Dat doesn't mean dat dose who wear weavon's hv got nofin 2 offer.
After all its our lives.
I THINK SHES PREGNANT ..KINDA LOOKS TIRED...MORE GREASE TO HER ELBOWS...OUR YOUTH DOING GREAT THINGS
I admire these guys. But my Love for Chimamanda is priceless! :D
All you idiots hating on her hair, should shut up and grow some self esteem. So until she wears 22 inch aunti YINKA hair from the temples of India before you say something good. dafties!!! appreciate people for what is inside them not hair, clothes etc that's why low self esteem people like Chike Ike thrive in communities like this. Rubbish.
Abeg u talk tru. D brain n hairstyl dey at sync abi na in sync. Hahaahahahahaha
Chimamanda take style dodge expensive brazilian and anwuruanwu wigs and weaves. From cornrows to this tie tie just to promote Americanah. Nice try. She now wants to be the next Buchi Emecheta. The joys of writerhood...yawns. E be like say she get belle. She don add weight small. Abi I lie?
chimamandas struggle to be different is on another level o. is ti a struggle to be different or to be African I don't even know. anyways more grease to her elbow
Excellent woman...but all this Igbo tribal comments doing us proud....ok Cossy and Afro Candy also doing you proud ???
Gosh. All Chimamanda did was to wear proudly the hair sprouting from her head. Don't hate. You too can scratch your head and feel your unencumbered scalp.
@Anon suggesting Linda and Nkem, the boy na my cousin, happily married with pikin.
That hair will easily land her on the cover of Essence o!
Ada, my suggestion was made with an "if he's single" caution. I've booted him from the pool in light of your revelation. Linda, I tried. You're on your own :-) LOL
Shame really...None of the comments/conversation on this forum is as intelligent or relevant to Jason & Chimimanda awesome work representing our beloved Nation. None of the comments is remotely related to the fact the WORLD is finally waking up and recognising Africa, Nigeria as a socio economic POWER NATION, only if (WE) all get our acts together and focus on how each empowered individuals can make ingenuos positive & commercial contribution but No No No...we will rather to that effect been seen and read as condescending, using irrelevant materialistic casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details which are not confirmed as true.
Furthermore (to my rant) Jason & Chimimanda have kicked the door open for us all. This 2 very intelligent Nigerians (Creative-Technologist) have given us the platform so we can all leverage on.
The question is (to sound very common Nigerian) 'wetin U dey contribute apart from ya loud mouf sef?' Just food for thoughts...
