The Caraway Dallas district is the first ever land-for-infrastructure exchange in West Africa driven by Public-Private-Partnership Initiative. It will cost over N26 billion to develop this new world class district situated along Keffi Road, adjacent Mogadishu Barrack. Continue...
Individuals are expected to provide the required infrastructures within the districts in exchange for 60% of buildable plots, while 40% would be retained by the Federal Capital Territory Administration for allocation.
The district is designed to have 9-hole golf course, schools, police station, fire service station, car parking facilities, residential areas grouped into smaller communities and villas, stunning views over the valley, recreational areas, mosque, church, shopping mall, farmers’ market, hospital, artificial lake, sports club, and a luxury hotel. The district covers a land mass of 220 hectares

Very commendable insight here, but I just pray its actualisation doesn't get impeded by corruption and avariciousness as usual.

Phe Dee Phe(PDP)... Share the land! Must it be after an American? Cnt our leaders initiate a model of any policy that works nd affects us as Nigerians. All izz well...
Nice
I pray the houses will be affordable, hope they're not building for themselves.
Mr minister Abuja is gradually turning into Lagos please u need to do more, before we loose all that El Rufai acheived.
~BONARIO~says so via NOKIA3310
The frequent visits from Tony Blair and croonies now showing..Anything to grav frim Niger while Nigerians look on.
BTW who is Carraway Dallas ti Nigerians???
When will we get it right in Nigeria? Our GDP is rising but our inequality is growing too so what's the point? Instead of them to in invest in low-cost housing so people don't have to drive for hours to get to work in the city centre this is what they're doing. And why in God's name are they naming it after an American mayor? Black or not, what is his business with Nigeria. One day the poor will have nothing else to eat but the rich and we know how brutal desperate Nigerians can be.
Mark my world, it will become an abandoned project immediately Bala Mohammed leaves, the minister will not continue wat will give another minister praises for starting
About 20bill will miss from that 26 billion and d houses will fed be overpriced just as other supposedly "low cost" estates in Abuja. But evil will not continue to ruin Naij for too long
--Teeteelahyo--
Idiot. Go and bomb it with your group. Enemy of development.
Yesooooooo! The contract was awarded to my brother's company in America..30% of the proceeds goes to the FCT minister(although d greedy man says he wants 50%).Good tidings huh.
This land is for polititians to acquire and sell at outrageous prices...For crying out loud why the carraway name...Nigeria and I belong eheeee..
www.safefoodnaija.blogspot.com
I don't get why its being named after an american, when we have great nigerians. Nice 1 though.
Arrant nonsense...these dense so-called politicians, why not at least upgrade all the expanse of infrastructure we have to improve the wellbeing of the masses/majority before embarking on white elephant projects like these, that's just going to enrich a chosen few? Wickedness in high places...ses the yeye name sef..carraway I don't mind but Dallas..please!
I hope the Nigerian factor doesn't come into play.
It Is Funny...Isn't It?
No mind them jare....and when the poor start eating the rich at least now they'll now where to catch all the fat, robust, orobo rich ppl
Prince charming strikes me as someone who'd be covering his book from classmates back in secondary school n even in higher institution judging by d way he drops his comments #NoPunIntended
Rubbish, theives dats wat dey re. Carraway Dallas district my ass.
Ur "world" is marked already wit abandoned project everywhere. ... Mark my world ko!
I bet ds is anoda means 2 steal public funds and make d rich acquire more properties.Y can't our so called govt eva provide 4 d masses nd plan according 2 d approved min wage.Wc civil servant can afford ds wtout stealing.Niaja I hail oh.
THERE WAS A COUNTRY!
Why u like so much uneccessary grammar?
Na wah ohh.....anywayz God bless 9ja!!
Wetin concern the name of a new district in Abuja and the name of the first mayor of Dallas? Can't we just use a Nigerian name?
This is another way to introduce hardship. Govt had never done anything for the masses to benefit from. Naming it after an American is not right and it shows some kind of inferiority complex on Nigeria as a nation.
I don't think America had or will ever name any part of America to honor any of the good Nigerians.
Grand scale Monopoly
So we now have a "Carraway Dallas District" in Abuja when we haven't even gotten around to naming Districts after our National icons like Zik or Saro Wiwa.
May God forgive you people
Abuja is getting really populated. i think this guys should fix a proper railway system. we heard they have been building one, but we have been hearing that for years. Any big city needs a railway system. www.fusion.com.ng
what's special about this project that it is costing 26 billion? besides judging from the look of the model (pic) the land is not being properly used aside from the low grade structures on it, even some private estates in Abuja have better plans.
And i also think naming it after an American is all a facade to take away our attention from the 'real' owners.
Who are D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ fooling? W̶̲̥̅̊ε pray dis project is completed.no be naija leaders again?
Bullshit... God is watching all dis politicains dat are jus after dere own gain and he will punish dem one by one
So no honour for chinua achebe our dear prof!
So no honour for chinua achebe our dear prof!
Today I claim my own house there in Mighty name of Jesus.Amen!
even the slum where i live in abj is damn expensive.... well if to say level don finally set, i no go yarn like dis sha... Oh well
Even the rich won't be able to afford this,it will be like buying a house abroad cos by the end of this project the priv developers Would have spend so much the prices has to be high.
These Priv Developers are paying 350mill to gov as initial payment to get a district aside the main work, which is putting world class infrastructure (they will be supervised btw).
I can't understand what this proj is aimed at?....providing housing for who?,pple that can't afford!
Just another joke of this administration.I keep smh for naija!!
it's actually a commendable thing we build the future from now? so also we must really ask who are the expected and projected beneficiaries? cus we emphasize that this government consider the non politicians benefit. Again well we hope that two things don't terminate the success of this project. 1. the cancer-corruption, that enables them loot away the fund and 2. becomes and abandoned project.
because they can always add value to our environment.
lastly I believe they really have considered quality security measures incorporated to this project. Best wishes.
This is silly. Why is this being named after someone from Dallas? What has Dallas got to do with Nigeria? Stuff like this annoys me...
This wicked country and its leaders and Ministers.. How can they be planning to spend 26 billion on a new district when the existing ones don't even have roads, water or light. Go and see the road construction they re doing in Guzape near Asokoro, their is no one living there ooo, it's just clearly the politicians and big mans land. While people who live in kuje, Jiwoyi, karu, kabuwa, and other LGAs dont ve roads to move on...nonsense people they will all pay for there sins.. New district for what
Meant *have*
@BithchPlis; LMFAO!! You made me laugh so hard, back in the days, I was a midfielder oh! Distributing "passes" during exams to my clique, and yes, receiving too, hehe! I was never a loner or a "cover work" type of a guy.
@Anonymous 1:58; Bros/Madame, abeg when be the right time to use "necessary" grammar? Tell me abeg.
hahahaha! A sorry sorry for Nigeria ! A pariah state indeed !
'land-for-infrastructure' ke??? wen wil our useless politicians stop confusing us wit gramma??? so lemme get dis rite...dem giv developer land to build buh im must do infrastructure to their standard??? who wil nw fix price for the to-be-built houses? govt shld liv up to its responsibility of providing infrastructure nd not a 'private' developer (who mite stil b a govt person)!!!
meanwhile linda, dnt tink dis is d first oooo...wz @ aco conference d oda day nd prime estates offer d same tin! dey do al d infrastructure (road, golf course, school, electricity nd water), nd sell land to u...naturalli @ a ridiculous rate
What u see in Guzape should be commended by u and not otherwise that at least they tried to put infrastructure, all that supposed' empty space u see are pple's land( ordinary nigerians)but they can't live there for lack of infrastructure.
Btw they have not finished doing roads and all in districts within the FCC,its Kuje and co' u are talking about dat is not part of their schedule.
Leave this pple o!Hmmmm.
Why an American name -NIaJA!
Plus, keffi is not abuja but nasarawa.
