It just keeps getting worse..
I wonder how they are able to get accurate stats in 9ja sha. Given that malus are calculated in the North as well, they prob calculated the death of cows too, no?
Please, do not tell me that picture is real.. Surely it must be photoshopped! This is what my teacher was complaining about.. 15th world country!!! Nigeria is a mess and you people who would defend it are equally delusional.. Can the governor of this state try harder to restore order?? I'm a HAPPY nigerian hehehe I would never visit it though! Untill the country is developed ! Okbye#
What do you expect? A country filled with so much poverty, waste and Pollution.
Take Lagos as a case study......everywhere is dirty, crowded, environment polluted, poverty everywhere and very poor attitude to healthcare by the citizens. The air you breath is poison, the food you eat is card loaded with diabetics/HBP as obvious effects, dirty surroundings,no sustainable developments,no basic health care services......Even the young ones who are supposed to be more aware/enlightened are rather enmeshed in the rat race of becoming millionaires overnight, not to improve society, but to show off to their mates....Nobody thinks outside the box or looks at the bigger picture. All these quest for materialism cripples you by the time you are 60....Rather than enjoy the so called money, you still end up using it to treat yourself of diabetics,HBP,et al....I'd rather live up to 90yrs and still jog around than 40 and can't run a 50M dash.
YOU, that is reading my comment, take control of your health today.Eat right, exercise, don't be greedy,be informed, and when you can, go on a holiday, breath clean air and drink clean water.
STAY ALIVE for your family and your children.
@loudmouth:Hahaha!!!!! Dats hilarious But true sha.
HOW DID MR. PROFESSOR ARRIVE AT THIS UNTRUE STATISTIC.
@12:41 naija does not even want ppl lyk u littering d country. I'm sure u'r in Lybia.born throwey lyk u opening his/her dirty mouth. We know u'r happy washin dishes n old women's bombom whereva u r.
anons that picture is the old oshodi before it was transformed, and most people have this pix in their homes as an artist made an impression of that area before it was turned around, having said that, Nigeria is stl a jackass!
Naija nids serious prayers. It's gonna b well, our God will not 4sake his own.Amen
Anonymous no2 pls stay wherever it is that you are, we don't need negative people like you here, we would get better without the likes of you
This d is one statistics dat I agree with. Our Hospitals are not Death Centres n this is puttin it midly!!! If yu re ill pray to God cos the Hospitals will kill yu!! Linda post my comment.
@Blacknight, you said it all. Thanks for having pple who think the way u do. Nigerians don't want to tell themselves the truth, and don't even want to hear the truth.
I meant *Now DEATH Centres* typo
my mouth is wide open and we are suppose to be the richest in africa but the lowest with life expectancy what a shame
looking at the picture...i am more than ahamed....in the year of 2012.
After my recent trip to Lebanon, ive come to establish that the main problem with Nigeria is the people. Not the leaders. or the government. Or the pastors. It all of us..the people in general.
We idolise the most irrelevant things, we settle for less and tend to just accept things the way they are, we aspire to be like other countries, hence why we leave our place of rest to go to a foreighn land and carry out demeaning jobs...., no unity or brother hood, we dont appreciate the finer things or life...everything is taken for granted.......why wont the life expectancy be so appaullingly low.
YET we should be the richest country in the world, what is it that we dont have...what is it that we dot have???
In the area of tourism..we should be numbver 1
In the area of OIL production...we should be numbe 1
In the area of educatin...same
there is soo much potential, so many different kinds of resources, so many people to carry out the work...... i JUST DONT UNDERSTAND.
Anyway I rebuke that life expentancy rate, all of us....the glory of God will definitely be seen in our lives...and in Nigeria xxx
I read all the comments, i just want to say to that person who said he/she can not go to Nigeria until is developed. Thats not the attitude that we should have toward our countries (even though i am not nigerian). We should always pray and support our countries and hoping that one day we will be the best.
I believe with time Africa is gonna be the most developed continent in d world.
World watch out for Africa
ONOME says........
Sigh.
And Linda why is this news biko??!
We knew all along over 10 yrs ago.Nothing has changed and sadly nothing may change if Nigerians and their outlook towards everything:politics, corruption, education, health, environment, hygiene, social welfare, geriatric care, maternal services,security,transportation........etc etc does not have a radical change.
Sad really.Such a great country with great potentials and terrific citizens.Yes I say so!
Violence, poverty and corruption are killing our dear country. We are going down by the day. Lord have Mercy!!!
Chaiii Linda see country naa, butUU Y?? *that akward moment when u yawn while u intended to cry*
@ Sue Jordan, the case cited is very true. At least in your very environment, more people below the age of 45 years die and we dont just ask why. The Prof. is even fair to place his rating at that.
Ohhh u choose libya of all countries ! Buahahahahahahaahahahah my dear didn't u see me shooting at quadaffi on the news *wipes sweat* it wasn't easy !! I mean after that they chose to lock us up in a cage to call us monkeys just because we were darksinned... Okay enough of the sarcassm but that actually happened in libya if ur interested .. U can always google it.m its really sad too.. Okay back to the point, the old womans bombo scared the shiiii out of me tho ...
MR. BLACK KNIGHT I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU...
AS FOR MR. HAPPY NIGERIAN...THE ONLY REASON YOU CANNOT VISIT IS BECAUSE YOU CANNOT "AFFORD" TO VISIT. HOW MUCH DO YOU HAVE AT THE END OF A MONTH SLAVING FOR OYINBO...STAY WHERE YOU ARE AND DONT COME HERE PLEASE...
My dear I hope ur not living in that hell hole?? U sound too posh for nigeria lolz and I soo agree with u!
Ohhw cool thanks for informing me in a civilized manner. I expected to read 'fool, bastard, oniranu' but woow thanks again mwuaaah
Buahahahahah nigeria is already NEGATIVE so I don't know what I will add to it by coming... Thanks for caring for my health, safety and wellbeing though.. Buahahahaha
No need to add anything more, u've said it all. In fact, ur head dey there.
I pray too but it is not about praying alone... A lazy man can pray and pray but without effort nothing happens....
@ Sue Jordan, the case cited is very true. At least in your very environment, more people below the age of 45 years die and we dont just ask why. The Prof. is even fair to place his rating at that.
Thank you very much for your comment Blacknight.
Talking about Nigeria and Africa as a whole, is the Coca-cola advertisement actually true?

Our outlook on life is very poor. You cannot blame the government anymore. There comes a time when you look just as stupid as the leaders when you continue blaming them while you don't do shit in your life. Living a long and healthy life start from within. Our way of thinking has to change before everything else changing. For example, if you want to live long and enjoy what you've worked for, change your diet and exercise. All the food that you call enjoyment food is bullshit! And will affect you at the end of the day. Eating eba for breakfast(carb), eating yam for lumch(carb), eating rice(carb) with a lot of beef and oily stew for dinner etc. you are killing yourself. Even with your huge belle and cottage cheese thighs, you call yourself thick! No, you are FAT! Start taking care of yourselves Nigerians. You can't invest on material things e.g bb, Brazilian weave, bleaching cream and your health is deteriorating..
THE POLLUTION IN NIGERIA IS CRIPPLING, NOXIOUS FUMES FROM GENERATORS, AND VEHICLES FILL THE AIR, PPL LIVE IN SQUALOR...10 000 PPL CAN LIVE WITHIN A 2 MILE RADIUS..THERE IS NO CLEAN WATER, NO ELECTRICITY, NIGERIANS CONSUME CHEMICAL AND PRESERVATIVE LADEN FOOD FROM CHINA, CHILDREN EAT INDOMIE LIKE THEIR VERY LIVELIHOOD DEPENDS ON IT, INDOMIE IS LOADED WITH ALL KINDS OF PRESERVATIVES, SODIUM METABISULFITE, SODIUM, TRIPOLYPHOSPHATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, ALUMINUM SILICATE ETC, EVERYONE DRINKS SOFT DRINKS AND SO CALLED FRUIT DRINKS THAT HAVE NO REAL FRUIT JUICE IN THEM, JUST LOADED WITH SUGAR...WE ARE CONSUMED WITH EVERYTHING FROM THE WEST, INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON OUR FRESH VEGETABLES AND FRUITS, THERE IS LITERALLY NO FUNCTIONAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM, THE MARKETS ARE FILLED WITH FAKE OR EXPIRED DRUGS....PPL ARE MORE CONCERNED WITH THE LATEST MADAGASCAR OR TAHITIAN HAIR, AND LATEST FASHIONS, YET MANY PPL ARE WALKING AROUND WITH DIABETES, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, AND OTHER DISEASES...
NIGERIA IS A FAILED STATE DO WE REALLY NEED SOMEONE ELSE TO TELL US??? MATERIALISM, DEBAUCHERY, WHOREMONGERY, GREED, AND THE STANDARD OF LIVING IS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH...THE QUALITY OF LIFE IS AT AN ABYSMAL LOW...
WE ARE A RESILIENT PPL HOWEVER DRASTIC CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE TO IMPROVE THE STATE OF THINGS OR ELSE ANARCHY WILL SOON ABOUND!!!!
the life expectancy though ridiculously low, it is not the lowest in West Africa. Sierra Leone(42yrs) is the lowest and even Liberia(46yrs) is lower than Nigeria.
Na wa oh!
Na wa oh!
Buahahaha ofcourse I'm too poor to visit buahahahahahah
Before nko? Did they think it would be Ghana? As for Anonymous June 29, 12:41pm, the 'happy Nigerian' who will never visit, ees okay. Kindly stay where you are and we would prefer you to obtain alternative citizenship and going forward refer to yourself as being of that nationality. Please don't come back at all. We are already overpopulated.
You don't get to make unhelpful comments when you're outside the country and couldn't be paid to come back and help develop it. Thanks. Your compliance is much appreciated.
@Anon 12:41 PM, make amadioha cut ur mouth there, u child of an illegal immigrant abeg who needs u in nigeria, i am sure ur family is too broke they can't afford to visit or come back to nigeria. i know people like u, let me tell u if u re n d UK u re a "brap" not nigerian, if u re n d US u re "useless" coz u re of no use to either been a Nigerian or where ever u re, just occupying there, at least u can tell others about how to be a modern slave. Aunty Linda i beg u with God post my comment, all this broke ass humans want to look down on us coz they live abroad we go tell them say Niaja get up hands, who God don bless e don bless, na just situation dey make cray fish bend.
I know naija is not perfect, but trust me, we re trying to survive, even them way dey abroadthem dey suffer too. Back to d topic, all this na coz of stress na, we just need people to be educated enough to know wassap. God Save Nigeria x
I tk it u found no other name other than MAX so dat ppl can mistake u fr MAXIMUS ryt? LIB readers, atlst let's b creative when pickin out names. Choose a name that will stand out nt somethn someone els has already picked. #justsayingsha

Well said BlackKnight! Inaddition to diet, pls reduce your salt and sugar intake esp. carbonated drinks and fast foods too. Let's start taking our health serious right from our youth.
BTW, I live in Nigeria.
*whiterose*
Tell them including Linda!!!! all of them trying to impress With new cars when the country they live in has no basic life necessities .Stupidity upon stupidity
Na today ?!!!
Yes many that Live in naija live in denial
WHO told you naija is the richest in Africa ?
You need to read to learn more My friend! and those Jobs you Call demeaning jobs only applies in Nigeria cos of your mentality that's why the country will never progress. Abroad people don't see any job as demeaning, they do their job with heads high up and everyone is proud and important in their own area Afterall they are contributing to the society in their own way...that's why u see these countries progressing!
You have said it all.then when people die at early age they will call it spiritual.
Clap for yourself ,hope you will strive to compare to those country living up to 100 years ...
What the lot of you don't realize is that the main reason why Nigeria has a lower life expectancy is because of it's high infant mortality rate. Infant mortality rates pull down life expectancy. Nigeria has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world. Bad yes. But when you take that off the life expectancy rate of a adult person is not as bad 47 years.
Nigerians give importance an value to things that don't really matter.they r more interesred in buying louis vuitton, dolce n gabbana, armani, bb porshe n range rovers while the country is falling. Its such a pity for such a big country.only God can help
On point noni
Lol 2:04. Abi ohhhh? Hahaha. Cnt blv ppl r still defending naija. When will we start calling a spade a spade? No wonder we're still where we r.
Lmao@no u r fat. Preach!!!! Materialistic ppl. Rocking Brazilian and carrying bb on empty stomach.
U hv summed it up!! Well said.
Buahahahahahah WOW excuse me yu and who is 'brap'????? Buahahahaha what is that???? Ofcourse I'm extremly broke buahahahah I mean naira's value is soo high no currency can beat it buahahahahahaha
