This is caused by a very bad infrastructure! Nigeria, where they build things by eye without measurement! Backward country!

When you all realise that Fashola is as hopeless as GEJ and stop buying into propaganda and politics of sentiments, Lagos will get better. Stop blaming it on refuse dump. This is just bad infrastructure management and bad urban development and planning. From waste disposal to drainages, the government is doing nothing. These people must think we are all daft to accept it has to be people blocking drainages. What happened to waste collection?

@ anon 1:45: i agree with you. We need to be responsible. This is what we get when we litter the streets with nylon. May God help us. Uncle Fash ur trying but pls do more, it could be better you know.let everyone who is caught littering the streets and dumping refuse be made made to clear the whole area

Thank you! This was further worsened by the fact that most people don't dipose their dirts properly. Now see? The little drainages you have have been blocked with pure water satchet, nylon bags, even sanitary waste.....the people should take responsibility!

This is a serious issue in Lagos. We are about to enter the main rainy season and i dont know how its going to be. This is just the starting. God will help us

Fashola is working,lagos is sinking.

The problem here is dat instead of building drainage, Fashola prefers to build eye catching projects e.g bridges, trains, etc. So that when people see these things they will praise Fashola to high heaven. Draqinage on the other hand is underground & u cannot see it. So if he builds brainage nobody will know what he is doing with the money; and will not praise him. Here is the danger inherent in what he is doing. He is building all eye catching projects on quicksand and one day they will all collapse. That is one of the reasons that u see collapse buildings because the earth is too sorgy and cannot hold up those buildings. Please write letters to Fashola and tell him to start building drainages all over Lagos.

In lagos like most parts on Nigeria, houses are constructed b4 thought is given 2 infrastructure -i.e our communities aren't planned cus if they were proper provision would have been made 4 flood drains and drainages, parks & gardens which were originally designed 2 accommodate 4 runnoffs have been sold and built upon thus giving d water no option but 2 take solace in peoples home 'water must find its level". Its only a pity that our greed & imcompetence has lead 2 d disaster in lagos.

Everything is Fashola dis..Fashola dt,I hope pple rememeber dt we have what we call State road n Federal road, even d 3MB dt dy want 2 repair..it is Fashola. The problem is dt many houses wld go if dy are doing a major drainage system in lagos cos most houses are on top of a gutter or a canal sef...so we d citizens sef need 2 talk 2 ourselves

No govt can construct a standard drainage in nigeria, d cities aren't planed especially lagos, we've got housesd evrywhere! If dey must do it a lot of pple will be homeless! We aren't helping either, maybe wen d enforce a law dat states dat nybdy dat litters will be penalised(asked 2 pay a fine or pick 4 a whole) things might be betta!op
