Ete, 33, and his wife in 2006 had set up a drug trafficking ring for transporting drugs illegally through Vietnam. The smuggling racket sold and bought drugs for Nigerians in Malaysia, China, India and Pakistan.
The Ho Chi Minh City Peoples’ Court heard that Ete and wife - Phan Thi Thanh Le - were caught during a transaction in 2009. The Vietnamese Police found about 11.5 kilograms of heroin in their possession.
The Peoples Court gave Ete’s wife life in imprisonment.
On the same day, the court gave Chukwuma Obi Remy, Okapor Chuma and Nnamdi Aghaji, all Nigerians, jail terms ranging from 15 to 20 years for drug related offences.

What is it now? Kai this is sad, these people do not play when it comes to these their drug laws and EVERYONE knows this. The painful part is he went and was doing it with this vietnamese woman who knew better. O my brothers, why do you put yourself on death's boulevard. Every section of the country has a particular crime that they are known for and all of them are contributory to the present state of Nigeria. @ Naso: so when a drug addict dies from a drug overdose you do not think he was killed by the drug dealer ehn? It was the drugs that did it right? The drug dealer was just making an honest living abi?
Every drug dealer/pusher/mule or kingpin is a mass murderer. He/she literally kills people every day. He also kills their dreams, their families and their children's childhood. He is also complicit in all the crimes committed by the drug addicts he has supplied.
An eye for an eye is the law in Vietnam and Nnaji David Ete knew that full well. They are just cutting his life short.....just as he did to countless others. He lived by sowing misery and death and cannot now expect to live his own life to the fullness of his years.
Only he can determine if his soul rests in peace after the sentence is carried out.
