Ghastly Crash: Governor Liyel Imoke Flown Abroad

By Emma Una/ Calabar

Following the injuries sustained by the Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, on the mountainous Obudu Ranch Resort, the governor has reportedly been flown abroad for further medical treatment.

The governor was involved in a road mishap while ascending the mountainous Obudu Ranch Resort at about 2 a.m after he had attended two funeral obsequies in Obudu in the northern senatorial zone of the state.

After the event, it was too late for the governor to use the cable car which had closed during the day, hence his trip in the SUV in the early hours of that fateful day to rest at the Resort.

The driver lost control of the SUV in which the governor was, causing it to skid off the snaky road and crashing several times into the steel barriers by the side of the road, thus causing him to sustain serious injuries.

The driver and the chief security officer to the governor did not sustain serious injuries but Imoke’s case was terrible.  The governor’s car according, to sources, was badly mangled.

Sometimes I think we are too harsh, so I will just say: May God grant him a quick recovery and may he be well again, just as He (God) *probably* has 'freed' Oga Yaradua from the wicked world. LOL

Seriously, may he get well soon

That settled on to a lighthearted take..Linda you wrote // ..the governor was involved in a road mishap while ascending the mountainous Obudu Ranch Resort //

He quite obviously did not read Memena Ukodo's guide to 'navigating' the Nigerian highway?

Please read and advice him.
Word of advice: Make sure he has downed a heavy dinner first oo, that way he wont be able to chase you out.lol (i kid i kid, i joke i joke)

He had to be flown abroad.
smh at those nigerian leaders. they forget that the evil that men do now live with them. If the govt had equipped hospitals he won't need to be flown abroad.
tbh i dnt care if he survives or dies, there are many others who did not get that chance to be flown abroad.
if it will take the lose of life of the ruling class for there to be changes in naij so be it.

Oh hush nigerians. A man got in an accident, so he must die, because u feel like he's a govt official and so stole money??? Are you God?? who made u righteous? You that is selling something for 5x the price, are u any better, arent u also robbing someone? you that paid bribe so u can get your WAEC results, or get into a certain prog in uni, arent u also robbing someone else?

I cant stand politics, no one in my family is into it, but seriously its comments like that of the anonymous poster which show that we are cold at heart. We need to pray for ourselves, we bear too much hatred and unforgiveness in our hearts.

wish him a speedy recovery ! God be with him...

yeye leaders dey shud build world class hospitals at home so that as nemesis continues to catch up with them dey can at least boast of something posiitive they achieved in office.

Poor man i wish him quick recovery

i wish him quick recovery but this just goes to show that governors need to take health as a priority. If he needed to get superior medical help within a very short time, then he might not have survived this. I am not against government officials sending their kids to schools abroad but high standard hospitals is something that will benefit us all

check this out o. they said it was not a ghastly motor accident but a minor one.

Ada
hush now.
if u are refering to me anon poster u are wsting ur time. if u think all nigerians are those who pay for WAEC or bribe go hide urself in shame. We are not all d same.
This hasss nothing to do with whether he is stealing money or not. It has to dow ith the fact that the rulers of our country forget there is a God. so in d how many years he has been gov he did not even think of equipping one hospital in his state that he thought was good enough right? right.good for him, he is even lucky that God was gracious enough to spear his life.
Go and ask the numerous pple who die in naij everyday from road accidents in heaven or hell that they probably are in now.

I feel sorry for the man and wish him a speedy recovery.
Gotta say though that this business about being ‘flown abroad’ irritates me a bit. For all the puff about 9ja being such a great place, the question still stands, what do you do if there is a medical emergency. Almost 50 years after sovereignty, we still don’t have enough hospitals to offer life saving treatments. Not really a predicament for the rich and privileged, they can always fly aboard!

whatever if the bloody government did their bloody job in terms of health care he'd be here receiving treatment. let's just hope he doesn't end up you know how

this is what needs to happen to all this bloody naija leaders. They need to band all of them from going overseas for treatment they need to suffer for what they have turned Nigeria into, even if its death it would help decrease the no's of bad leaders
