accent won't change your passport. She wrote;

If you go to uni in America you will understand what I mean. The English you are taught in uni is different from what we learnt back home.. An American will come to Nigeria and not change his accent because he isn't taught very well in Nigerian. The way they teach here you have to learn by force. I think say this actress get sense as she fine reach. I am surprised . Every society you go to, you have to adapt to their lifestyle. There are a lot of jobs where you have to sound like that. A lot of Africans come overseas and quickly change their first name..cos oyinbo no fit pronounce our names now.
No be forming at all. I lived in England for over 20 years and now live in America. I no forget where i come from. circumstances/job demands will make you adapt to fit in. If not, you could be discriminated against and others picked before you for jobs sometimes .
Jobs that are technical,or where you use your hands, you can get away with it..but for a lot of professions that demand public speaking, you have to adapt my sister .
