Senator Dino Melaye has shared a copy of his National
Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Certificate. The document states that he
started the programme on 9th July 2000 and finished on 8th July 2001. On Monday,
the Vice Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Ibrahim Garba,
affirmed that Melaye graduated from the institution with a 3rd class in
Geography in the year 2000.

This Dino melaye story is something else, didn't he have coursemates back that can back up his claim. Besides, this certificate looks altered, the last digit on the year looks tampered with. Someone should please come out from when they went to school together and collaborate his story so this can be put to rest once and for all.

Although It would have been nice to see the original posted instead of photocopy, my NYSC certificate is dated from 9th July 2000 to 8th July 2001 which fell on Sunday. That means the date on the photocopy of NYSC certificate he allegedly posted online is right.
I will take time tonight to check mine issued to me to find out some of these figures looking like altered. I don't still understand why the guy keep shying away from coming out plain and clear to the world. All his claims are counterproductive thus far. I think the major problem we have is the ease with which our journalists default to sensationalism instead of carrying out simple investigation on burning issues. Are we honestly saying it is difficult to verify if someone graduated from a Nigerian university and if he did his NYSC in a particular year? the 200 on both 2000 and 2001 were pre-printe on the certificate. They only wrote the last digit. NYSC naturally does that so that they can use the volume of certificate for at least ten years before reprinting another sets. It happen in 2010 batch result too.
